Easy to use for sure. The instructions looked complex but the actual configuration of the unit is trivial. The unit seems to retain its state when not powered so it must have a capacitor or backup battery inside. It even has a reset button which is always a good sign :-) My one complaint is that I want to program a short 'off' range instead of a short 'on' range. That is, have the unit be on all the time except between certain hours M-F. So also "on" all day Saturday and Sunday. I was able to program this in, sorta, but I did it on a Sunday when the default state should have been "on" and it stayed off. Now on Monday when I reconfirmed the program (outside the time interval where it is supposed to be 'off'), it defaults to 'on' as it should. But I do not yet know if it will cycle properly or stay "on" on the weekends. Four stars (only because of the default state issue described above, else it would be five). EDIT: Reduced to three stars. The weekend came up again and instead of staying "on" for all of Saturday and Sunday, it turned off for all of Saturday and Sunday. So basically there doesn't seem to be a way to program "off" periods on only some of the days of the week and "on" for the rest of the time and for the other days. I had to change the unit to program the "off" period for all 7 days of the week. Its a bit too bad, the unit works wonderfully otherwise, including maintaining its timebase when power is out or the unit is unplugged. ... show more

Standard options for daily/weekly timer with lots of programmable on/off points The cycle timer is great for anything that isn't a 24 hour period. You only have one on/off cycle per period, but it can be anything from 2 seconds to 23:59:59 I believe.

    • Bought 2 one died after a week of use.
Thought this was a solution for a reliable timer I needed to dispense food to feed my dogs while I'm away. One worked fine for about a week and then did not turn on during the timing cycle. The relay works when you cycle through the modes to turn it ON or Off, just won't work for a timing cycle. Past my return period so I'll try another brand. ... show more

    • Easy but can't plug anything into it
The instructions are clear and it's easy to set up. But, I'm finding that I can't plug any of my lamps into it! I tried 3 and they just don't fit the socket. So, I can't use it.
