I first used one these during a cutout just a week after I bought them. These were a dream to fit on and worked great compared to a previous set of "oversized" beehive transport bags that were sized for nucs instead of a full size box (and had cost about the same). Putting this on created enough air space that those "lost" outside made their way to the entrance trying to get closer and largely went into the hive as I let it sit there after the cutout, with the few stragglers all inside the mesh where I could just close them up and have them contained without dealing with any loose bees while I transported it to my apiary and situated the colony in their new spot. If using these in the field, I might suggest getting a board or sheet of cardboard to put under the bottom board to keep the mesh from snagging on grass and brush stalks, these are a fine mesh. The drawstring provided a secure closure. At home, it slid right off once I worked the opening around the corners of the front.

This worked great for placing over a deep and medium 10 frame while we moved them. I didn’t try to close it, but just put it over the hive and the bees bearding on the hive. Really helped to ensure they made the move. It’s large enough to completely close around a nuc.
