I really want to love this machine, but so far it’s been a bit frustrating. On the positive side, it’s easy to clean and the disassembly instructions are clear and well done. That part was a big win for me. It also comes with a really good recipe book, which is a nice bonus and helpful for getting started. However, the design of the controls is… not great. Having the mode button combined with the power button is incredibly frustrating. Every time I tried to switch modes, I ended up turning the machine off instead. The same issue comes up when adjusting temperature--attempting to change it often shuts the machine off entirely. It makes what should be simple adjustments unnecessarily annoying. Whenever the machine shut off, I had to unplug it and try again in a few minutes after plugging it back in. If I didn't unplug it, it would just consistently power on and off whenever I try to press the mode button, instead of giving me the actual mode option. I found that a little odd. The touchscreen buttons are also a bit difficult to press, even though they’re flat. If you have stiff or sensitive hands, this can get frustrating pretty quickly. Performance has been hit or miss. When I tried to make a smoothie, it came out mostly liquid with small bits of ice--not really the texture I was expecting. To be fair, the drink included a fizzy ingredient, and I may have diluted it too much, which could have affected the result. If that’s the case, it would be helpful if the manufacturer clearly listed carbonated ingredients as something to avoid. Noise-wise, it’s not the quietest machine, but it’s still quieter than my Nespresso. I live in an apartment with thin walls, and I’m not worried about disturbing my neighbors, so I’d consider the noise level acceptable. One more odd issue: even slightly moving the machine seems to turn it off, which is inconvenient. That said, it does seem durable, and it actually handled milkshakes better than smoothies in my experience so far. I’m still learning how to use it properly, so some of this could be user error--but the control design definitely doesn’t help. Overall, I’m still testing it out and trying different settings. At this point, I’m undecided on whether it’s worth the price.
