We have a LiftMaster Elite Series Model 3800PLD jackshart mounted garage door opener mounted on the side of our heavy steel two-car garage door. The opener was fairly expensive and came with fancy model 373P 3-button remotes reflective of being a higher-end model. The remotes use multiple batteries to allow "proximity lighting" that comes on when your hand is nearby and has flashing lights that display in each button when the remote is activated. While those remotes work, they don't really suit our needs. The proximity feature eats batteries (each remote uses three), so we gave up on that long ago by leaving the proximity batteries out. Yes, I could have programmed all three buttons of each to open our only door to make it easier to use without looking, but the biggest problem we have with these remotes is that the visor clip is flimsy and the plastic edges of the slot that hold the clip to the remote's body break away over time. The result is that the remote doesn't stay attached to the visor. I've seen others complaining about this online, so I know it's not "just us" and both of our units have the issue. I was looking for a no-frills, single button, inexpensive pair of remotes that would work with our opener, have adequate range, and maybe be a little narrower than the factory unit, so it doesn't interfere with the mirror flap on the back of the visor. Most importantly, it needed to have a clip that holds firmly to the visor and to the remote iself. I didn't want any feature that would reduce battery life, so no need for any LEDs. These work great, check all of the boxes, and I'm looking forward to many years of use. The hardest part about programming them was getting out the ladder to reach the purple button on the opener. Once I had that, it took two seconds, literally, to program it to work with each of them. They are a perfect example of the power of the KISS principle: Keep It Simple, Stupid.
