This portable electric cooktop truly shines with its sleek design, touchpad control, and gold tone accents. I've really enjoyed using this cooktop. I appreciate the safety lock feature—it gives peace of mind, if the unit is left plugged in. The timer feature is absolutely genius and incredibly user-friendly. The addition of handles and a knob that controls both the timer and wattage adjustment makes it super easy to use. The controls work well and this seems to have the same power as a regular kitchen stove. I haven’t had any issues cooking anything properly. I primarily use it on top of a heatproof pad in our RV, and sometimes in our house when I don't feel like using the regular stove to heat the kitchen. A built-in fan cools the unit—blowing warm air from the sides, and as I alluded to above, the bottom does get warm. After cooking, the fan runs for a while to cool down the unit. This portable stove top is terrific, offering a smooth glass cooktop that's easy to clean. I have not made a mess that I haven’t been able to clean up yet. It's a fantastic addition to any kitchen setup, whether on the go or at home. I'm thoroughly impressed and delighted with this cooktop!

I ordered this electric cook top as indoor cooking surface that I could use on an electric generator during a black out. I was not sure what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. I set the power at 1400 watts (see note below) with a large non-stick skillet with some oil in it. Waited for skillet/oil to heat up and ran a test to make some scrambled eggs. I was impressed! The eggs cooked fast. There is cooling fan that runs while hot plate is running and will continue to run after turning off to help cool off the surface. The digital display will show the word HOT during this process. While not recommended, if using an extension cord, use one that is at least 12-gauge wire. Mine is yellow colored and is noticeably thicker/stiffer than the generic orange tool extension cord which is 14 gauge. Note: Make sure your house wiring can handle the load of the hot plate and avoid using any other heating devices on the same circuit at the same time (e.g. toaster, microwave, lighting, hot water pot, etc). My home was built in the 1960s so I chose to only run it at 1400 watts. 1800 watts is 15 amps. 1400 watts is 11.67 amps.

The media could not be loaded. This is great little hot plate. I got it to use outside our RV when camping. It's really light and has two handles so it's really portable making it ideal. It also has a heavy duty power cord with a grounded 3 prong plug so I feel it's safe to use outdoors with the possibility of moisture exposure. Instructions state that all types of cookware including aluminum can be used which is great because our RV has a mix of different pots and pans. It is also totally smooth for super easy clean up. It has three temp settings. Steam is set at 1600W and not adjustable but the BBQ and Stir Fry are adjustable from 100W to 1000W for BBQ and 100W to 1800W for Stir Fry. It also has a fully adjustable shut off timer and a lock setting. I tested the burner with a 1qt stainless steel pot of water at 63 deg and the lid on. It took 7 mins 10 sec to bring it to a full boil on the Stir Fry setting at 1800W. There is a fan that vents along the left side and top left corner of the plate that blows 95 degree warm air so you might not want to put the mayo next to that side or back when using it. Also, the fan is a little loud. After the water was done and the burner was shut off the fan continued to blow for another 16 1/2 minutes for a cool down. The top remains a bit warm even after the fan shuts off. At first I wished it just had traditional Lo-Hi or 1-10 temp settings but after using it a couple of times you get the hang of the temps of the different settings and how to adjust them. All in all, it's a great portable burner.

We used this burner at our church for soup and it worked perfectly. It gets really hot very fast and keeps the heat at the same level the whole time it is on. The controls are super easy to use and I really like the fact that this burner can be used as a free standing unit and is perfect to use anywhere. It is not as heavy and I expected, which is a nice plus. Great overall!

I got this for a Vine product review because it is a plug in and does not require to be hardwired for use. Because of that it makes for a perfect portable cooktop that can be used when entertaining and you need extra elements and can also be taken outside for cooking during good weather and summer time; all you need is an outlet. It heats up well, works fine, and serves it's purpose. Whether you are looking for an extra cook top, to actually install in a small kitchen, or to take outdoors this is a great choice. I am giving this 4 stars because I have had flat tops like this in the past and the paint on it wears out in time which has always been irritating because in my mind it should not do that. Only time will tell how quickly this might happen to this.
