Update: If you need to use the solar panel for charging, it does NOT plug into the camera properly. After a lot of fussing just to get the rubber seal that surrounds the charging port in place, it pops right back out . I even taped it once I got it in place and within 15 minutes it had pushed the tape loose and popped back out. Plus, you actually have to break off the attached rubber cover for the charging port in order to attach the solar panel with rubber cover. The connection for the solar panel is very poorly engineered. My personal opinion on the solar panel itself, is that it is not strong enough to do you much good anyway. Either skip the excessive cost of the camera with the solar panel and purchase just the camera, or be prepared to devise a way to keep it connected knowing you are going to have to bring it inside to charge it anyway. I'd advise just buying the camera, and if you want a solar panel, diy one. I've used this camera for nearly a year. I recently gave it to someone who needed a camera asap, thinking I would just replace it. I am so disappointed that it is now out of stock, I hope they come back soon. I have tried several other brands in the last few weeks and have returned them all as they do not function like this one. This camera has a very good PIR detection, the range could be a bit wider but I am satisfied with it. It does detect what it needs to, just not as far out as I'd like. The picture is great in both day and night mode. No complaints at all on picture quality. The wifi is a bit weak, I actually had to install a wifi extender just for this camera. I say it's weak as I have a few A-RLO cameras at two and three times the distance as the Dzees camera that have no problem connecting to my router. Still, not a deal breaker. (As a side note, I don't recommend the A-RLO, they're more trouble than they're worth, even though their wifi is better) The battery life is great on this camera. I had to charge it about every 3 weeks, but it was placed right next to my door with a lot of activity, recording as many as 100+ events per day. In a place with much lower activity, you'd likely get 2-3 months between chargings. The VicoHome app is good and easy to use, much more user friendly than the CloudEdge app that so many cameras use, including many of the Zumimall cameras which I believe is also the manufacturer of this Dzees camera. The biggest complaint I have about this camera is the recording time. It only records in 20 second clips whereas many of my other cameras can be changed to record up to 2 minutes. Fortunately though, this one will begin recording again almost instantly if motion is still being detected where a lot of motion activated cameras have a lag time between recordings. If my A-RLO camera is set to record for 2 minutes, it will then be unable to record again for 1- 2 more minutes while it uploads the recording to the cloud. So while it is inconvenient to have 8 or 10 twenty second recordings compared to 1 two minute recording, in reality you are seeing more of the activity if the motion lasts a while. The built in magnet is extremely strong. While I did not use the included mounting base, I just attached it to a metal surface, this thing never budged, even in heavy storms with lots of wind and rain. The 2 way speaker worked great with very clear reception on both ends. Do keep in mind that you'll need two people to test this function as there will be interference causing a very loud screeching sound if your phone with the app is close to the camera. This is only an issue when you are using the microphone. Obviously you will not need to use the microphone if you are that close to the camera, just a heads up that you can't test it that way, lol. Over all, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they extended the ir light range, motion detection range and definitely wifi range. It is best used close to the home/router. I do see that there is currently another camera available that appears to be this camera except it is bundled with a solar panel. I can't justify the cost of that one as I have no need or want for the solar panel. I hope this one comes back in stock soon.... so very tired of trying other cameras that don't stand up to their claims. While there are lemons in every bunch, I can't promise you'll get a great camera, but I do believe that the majority of them are really good and are worth trying out. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is my 6th camera of this brand. The customer service is outstanding. They will help you right away if there are any issues or if you need any help adjusting the settings. It is super easy to setup the camera and add it to the app. The same cameras can be added to the family members’ app, with the only difference that they can watch the recordings or view live footage, but they can not adjust any settings. What makes this brand versatile is that you can either insert a micro SD card, use 7 days of cloud storage for free, or pay an inexpensive monthly subscription to get enhanced features, like animal, car, or human recognition, to name a few, as well as many other enhanced features. With the free 7 days cloud storage, the camera can pick up passing cars or bicyclists, but for me it is not an issue. Depending on your circumstances, you can adjust the length of recordings, sensitivity, motion detection, and many other components. The solar panel works great and is charging the camera to 100% at all times. The cord from the solar panel is pretty long, which allows for more flexibility. One thing to note is that this camera is black but the solar panel and the wiring are white. There are 3 mounts with screws that are included in the box as well as a sticky tape. For the camera, you can pick a regular mount or the one using the magnet. I really like the magnet. The night vision can be adjusted (infrared vs. white light), depending on the lighting and the location. For darker areas, I like white light mode at night because it provides me with a better picture. The microphone and speaker are good too, you can clearly hear the person you are talking to and they clear hear you. I have included a video of delivery that we missed to show this camera in action. I like it. Very pleased with this system.I can view the cameras real time from the app and respond if needed. The field of view is more than expected, and motion detection works well at distance. I love that it sends a notification through the app when motion detected, it even triggered .Night vision is really good, even when pitch black outside. I bought 5 of these cameras. And I recommend them to all my friends. They work well and battery life is at least a few months based on your usage and settings. However, 1 of the 5 I bought has not charged since day 1. And I’ve been unable to get the seller or Amazon to correct the issue. It’s truly frustrating. If your camera doesn’t work. Just return it before the window. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t inbox mine till after the return windows closed as I had orders then for a new house we moved too. ... show more

I only wanted a regular camera to see my backyard but this one has everything. It notifies me whenever someone walks by and captures a video of them. I can speak through the device too.
