I purchased this to basically disassemble for a DIY project. First though I had to pair with my chamberlain yellow button garage door opener. It paired exactly like the originals and was quick and easy. I then removed the PCB and soldered two wires to the large button switch inside (the two contacts closest to edge of the board for the big button). I ran these wires to a momentary push button switch on my motorcycle handlebars and put this remote in a plastic bag under my seat. Range is excellent and after sealing the connections with hot glue and silicone to keep water out (and melting holes for the wires to pass through the shell with my soldering gun), it works great. Would highly reccomend. There are plenty of replacement remotes being sold on Amazon for chamberlain but they are for most part only for a single color/model of opener. I wasn't sure which I had when ordering so I chose this because it has instructions to work on pretty much any model/year opener. For my yellow button opener, I just pressed the button on the garage door motor once, then clicked the button I wanted to learn one time, and it was paired and working. This is exactly the same procedure as the factory original remotes. Quality looks the same and it did come with a visor clip if needed for your application.

My openers arrived with one dead battery which of course is the first one I opened and was trying to program. We were in the process of moving so my stock of coin batteries was still locked away. Thankfully, I thought to try the other remote before just stomping on both of them. SUPER simple to set up, and with surprisingly not-horrific instructions. Once I found my batteries, I replaced the battery in the second remote and all is well. Given that one of the originals was DOA, I just replaced the other one too so I don't have to worry about it. Moral of the story: If you don't have CR2032s, but some alongside these remotes and it may be best to just replace the batteries as soon as you get them.

Ordered this remote from Amazon because it said it's Model Number is 953-EV-P2 and was advertised as compatible with Chamberlain and Sears Garage Door Openers. I had already looked at the model 953-EV-P2 on the Chamberlain website and it was almost 3 times more than the one sold by Amazon. Delivery was quick, however, I could not get it to work by following the instructions included and by also calling Chamberlain Support for help. In the process of trying various ways to program this 3 button remote, it ended up disabling my existing remote AND the Control Panel on the outside of my Garage door! Not good. The photos show both devices side by side. The one from Amazon is the one on the bottom that does NOT have Chamberlain embossed on it, and does not have a sticker on the back on the right side. The one from Home Depot is the one shown at the top of both photos and clearly shows a small clear round button in the middle that is necessary for programming. Today I ordered another one with same model number from Home Depot and just picked it up. You can see in the photos that the one purchased from Amazon (the on bottom of the photo) is missing the button needed on the back in the middle of the one at the top of the photo that is NECESSARY to activate the programming mode, and this is why it wouldn't work. No idea how whoever manufactured this item didn't include this critical button. IT DOESN'T WORK!!

At first, I could not get this to program to the Chamberlain garage door openers. I gave up and when our older one's stopped working, I picked it back up and reread everything and under troubleshooting it suggested to hold in the learn button on the opener and wait until the LED goes out then repeat the entire process. On our older Chamberlains, (+10yrs old) it fixed everything when I did this and programmed on both garage doors the first time. Only issue is I had to reprogram the smart link opener buttons on my Honda CRV. This remote also seems to open the doors from a greater distance than the older remotes that came with the opener. I am glad I didnot spend more on the Chamberlain now that I got this one to work. If there is a downside the instructions were confusing at first. Just 1) Clear the memory of the garage door opener. 2) Set the remote in the programming mode. 3) press the learn button on the opener and program the remote.
