I purchased this suctioned grab bar for my shower. It was very easy to assemble and provides good stability for a senior in the shower. If you need to grab on to the bar in the event of a slip in the shower, it will do the trick. It provides enough grip to keep a person from falling or slipping in the shower. It is not however a permanent bar, so the manufacturer cautions against supporting yourself during a complete shower.

I purchased this item for a little extra security in the shower. Our shower floor can get slippery and I’ve had a couple of close calls. I thought I’d try this out as something to hang onto occasionally when I might feel a little less secure. First of all, the picture shows two products, but you only get one. Be aware of that. Second, this is a quality item. It’s well made, fairly heavy, and grips like crazy! My shower is a fiberglass surround and it grips it very securely—this product won’t fall off on its own. It’s been up over a month and when I grab it while in the shower, it is still holding strong. Installation was a breeze. Position it where you want and push down on the little levers. Not where you want it? Push up on the levers and reposition. And it isn’t destroying my shower surround, so if I remove it, no one will even know it was there.

We installed the 19" and the 17" shower bars. The Heinsy product is great. They are incredibly easy to assemble. It takes a bit of pressure to get them to strongly adhere to the wall surface but it was done and they feel very secure. Not at all wobbly or shabby. This is a great product, very well made and sturdy. We bought two, but had we only bought one, we would definitely buy another. I highly recommend this product. The product was well-packaged and delivered quickly.

Arrived just in time; feel they will be very stable. Rehabilitation therapists were mostly negative about using suction bars vs bolted-in bars. I’ll bet they’ve never seen these Heinsy bars. Amazingly strong and stable. Thank you!

Other suction handles often fall off unexpectedly - which pretty much negates the purpose of safety. These are absolutely a higher quality and so worth the higher price. Literally feel I could chin ups on it, and it would stay in place. (Well, that is if I could do chin ups. :) The size was smaller than I expected so I returned it and got the longer one. Purchased thinking for my 91-year-old Dad's visit, but plan to leave it in my shower for ongoing safety and convenience. My shower is acrylic and it works great. I wanted to get another one for my bathtub, but the tiles are smaller and the suction would not hold. Bummed! :-(

The suction cups hold well. I always check the vacuum indicator to make sure they are holding at maximum strength. I need to remove them if I go on a trip. They will fall off and nick the finish of the shower pan if i'm gone more than a week. I live at 7,500 ft elevation so the holding force is 3/4 that at sea level. I have two in my shower and rely on them to help me keep my balance at age 82. I am confident that they will safely hold me up when each suction cup is freshly reset. My safety and confidence is worth the price I paid.
