These hosta seeds are of several different varieties of Hosta plants. These are shade loving plants that are very beautiful and stunning in a yard. They are unfortunately a favorite meal of slugs and snails so constant diligence is needed to keep these pest away. They need to be in moist soil but well worth the effort.

Just seeds with no planting instructions like suggested soil or time year to plant. Various colors advertised are not separated. I'm doubtful the results won't look anything like shown. If so, I blame Amazon for not verifying products being sold. When I received the "seeds" 12-30-25 and I immediately planted some of them in an indoor greenhouse with individual peat pods. This greenhouse is to germinate seeds until the plant is large enough in each peat pod to plant somewhere else. It's been 2 1/2 months and nothing has sprouted. I seriously doubt that there are seeds in the tiny package. My opinion comes from being a gardener who had 300 hostas in his front yard. It's now 3-6-26 and not a single peat pot had anything start to grow.

These seeds germinated pretty fast. I always use the method of placing the seeds over a wet paper towel in a plastic container. Then I placed a wet paper towel over the seeds. I close the container with it's air tight lid. The paper towels stay wet to ensure the seeds stay moist. I checked progress everyday and on the third day, the seeds began to germinate. After five days I place the germinated seeds in a plant starter tray with starter soil. Eight days in they are now just starting to break the surface. Can't wait for the flowers. I'm happy with this purchase.

While the idea of having a variety of hosts plants was appealing the fact is that I could not get any seeds to germinate so I do not recommend this product

I received the seeds promptly, but I have not opened the packet yet. I don’t want to sew the seeds, they come up, and the cold kills them. My goal is to plant the seeds tomorrow after I have prepared suitable soil and protection for the possible plants.

Don’t buy this junk. Go to Home Depot or Lowe’s or Walmart and buy small plants. They do not grow. Now before they say it’s winter ? I’m in California been 75 and above for few months Again don’t buy !! If you do wait to you see the seeds ? Looks like pepper. But do what you want I’ll never buy seeds again on Amazon. And believe me I love Amazon I buy all the time. Bout no more seeds. !!
