  • Higher quality handheld
Color: Dark Blue
This is a great version of this product. There are quite a few little rechargeable game consoles on the market these days, stuffed with copies of old game ROMs, and you basically have no idea what you're getting in quality. This one mostly emulates a Sega Genesis, though I think a few of the games may be old arcade cabinets. The emulation is spotless. I saw no graphical or audio artifacts at all. The screen is bright, sharp, and though glossy, very easy to view from wide angles. There's a button you press to adjust the volume from four levels (including mute). You can use one of the buttons at the bottom to reset the device and return to the menu from where you pick your game. There's no way to permanently save games, nor do the games on here really need permanent save files. These games are Street Fighter, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc. They included two very poor versions of Super Mario brothers, but otherwise this is not a Nintendo system at all. While I like the Gameboy form factor, and found the case very solid and the buttons responsive, the analog/directional pad is not very good for sharp D-pad, which is a shame as this handheld includes several fighting games that need that kind of thing. I still found it easy and fun to play, as these are not challenging games. I didn't love the button placement on the few unofficial games (like the mario clones), but for 99% of the games, the real Sega games, the button placement was correct and the games were easy to play. Battery life seems great. I played this for eight hours and have no idea how long the battery life is beyond that. It's easy to charge, albeit with a USB-micro port rather than a modern USB-C. For the money, this is a great alternative to phone-based games for your kids, or even an adult enjoying a blast from the past. The games are great. ... show more

  • Retro gaming for kids
Color: Pink
The media could not be loaded. This handheld retro console is aimed more so for younger kids. Though some games maybe questionable for the younger ones. The console itself is simple in design. It's a two piece plastic shell with a protective cover over the LCD screen. Buttons are small and more fitting to smaller hands but completely usable for an adult. Menu buttons are simple and easy to understand. There is a single power button on the side of the unit that wakes it up quickly. OS- Its a simple scroll down list of the one hundred included games. Game names are abbreviated to fit the screen but with the accompanying screen shots make sense. Navigations is simplified but fast. Having a favorites menu would have been an appreciated bonus but it is a manageable list to scroll through. Games- Decent selection and enough to keep you busy. Some games are better suited to teenagers but there is something here for everyone. All the games I loaded up played great. Display- The screen is somewhat of a letdown. Looking directly at it, it’s acceptable. On my unit the screen becomes unusable from the left side if you angle it. The screen completely washes out. The other sides do not display this issue. The screen is covered by a protected housing and it may be exaggerating this display anomaly. This should hold up well just being tossed into a bag though. Buttons- Game buttons are concave and about the size of a pencil eraser. Not clicky but you can feel the button press. The D'Pad is usable but kinda of an awkward shape. Its works but the old simple cross style plays better for these types of games. Menu buttons are home, select, start and vol. Volume works by cycling from quiet-loud-off in four presses. Sound is clear and works well. One power on/off button located on the right side. Inputs/outputs- Micro usb power input for charging. Has an AV out to run an included rca cable for use on a tv. I did not test the output as it’s not how I would use the console. Bottom line. Great choice for a younger child to experience the older classics. ... show more

  • A bit on the bright side, very well known games.
Color: Dark Blue
This is a great handheld gaming device. It has a ton of classic games, including (first letter removed) Ario bros, Etris, Onic 3D blast, Treet Fighter 2, Ortal Kombat 3, Urassic Park, Ragon Ball Z, Onkey Kong, Piderman, Uperman, Lien 3, Atman, Obo Cop 3, Lintstones, Ambo 3, Pace Invaders. If you like classic games on the go, this is the device for you. I do think that the screen is a bit too bright, and I wish you could dim that. I like that this is rechargeable and it holds its charge for hours. If you press the volume button 3 times, it will mute it, which is convenient for travel. ... show more

  • Lots of retro games, but very loud
Color: Light Blue
This small handheld console includes 100 built-in 16-bit retro games. I got the light blue version. The box includes the console, a USB charging cable, AV cable, and instructions. Game selection spans classic fighters, platformers, sports, racing, and more from systems like Sega and arcade titles. The ~1.7" x ~2.25" screen is small but surprisingly sharp and colorful, with decent brightness. Most in-game text is readable. Buttons include HOME, SELECT, START, VOL, A/B/X/Y, L/R, and a D-pad, plus a small speaker on the front. The power button is on the right. On top are a micro-USB charging port and a 1/8" AV jack. The menu is simple. HOME returns to the main menu, the D-pad scrolls through the list, and SELECT or START launches the highlighted game. Pressing VOL cycles through four volume levels, which I’d describe as way too loud, too loud, still too loud, and off. Covering the speaker helps. The buttons are responsive, and battery life is good. For around $22, it offers a lot of nostalgic gameplay. The main downside is the limited volume settings. ... show more
