The only negative comments I’ve read seem to be about the mount for the camera/monocular connection. I played around with it for awhile and I believe I’ve discovered an easy way to avoid the frustration some folks have experienced. Do NOT attempt to make the adjustments with BOTH the camera and monocular attached at the same time, it makes alignment and tightening of the bracket far to difficult. Mount the camera FIRST, it’s a breeze to line up the phone and the eye cup when you do it from the backside...a 15 second operation to center and tighten. Then mount to the monocular as the twist grip is self centering. Bingo, perfectly centered, mounted and tightened in under a minute! Another complaint I’ve read is that it was hard to focus or the photos were blurry, I suspect this is not a problem folks had with the monocular/camera but rather a problem with trying to hand-hold a 50X monocular combined with the manual shutter button. I suggest folks use a tripod and a remote shutter release to avoid vibration and movement. I got the CAMKIX blue tooth and it works like a charm. I’ll try to follow up with a field test next month as I’m taking the kids and grand kids to Japan, so it should get a work out ... show more

This is super easy to use. I like to put it in my bike bag so I can pull it out and get a close up view of wildlife (coyotes, road runners, porcupines, and other birds). Works great, easy to focus, easy to carry and easy to use. It is actually a little too strong for what I was intending to use it for, watching sports. But I am happy with it and will use it on camping trips for animal spotting.

This is my first monocular purchase and it seems nice, however I agree with other reviewers that say it isn’t 15x54 magnification. I compared this with my Bushnell 10x50 binoculars, which as labeled should be LESS powerful than monocular. I stood in the same spot and observed my flowerbed from 30 feet away. My Bushnell binoculars magnified everything significantly more than the monocular, and not only that but I could clearly read the plant names on the tiny plant tags with the Bushnell, whereas with this monocular the letters were all blurred together and indecipherable. This monocular is definitely not 15x54, I’d wager it’s more like 6x54 or maybe even 8x54. It seems nicely made and is light and portable, but I’m quite disappointed with the magnifying ability being not what it says it is. ... show more

(pro photographer retired) astro photographer that had over 50k in telescopes. I know optics. I didn't dare get a monoscope at this low of a price but I wanted a small one (to carry for bird photography). Reviews were good so I took a chance. I'm quite surprised. While not the sharpness I would love, it's more than I expected at this price point. Most people would think it's amazingly sharp. I was going to get another brand at twice the price but read that they fogged and got water in them on a misty day. These already got wet in my kayak and did not fog. FEELS well-made, light but enough heft to feel like quality. I recommend "for the price" them highly. Smooth steady focus adjustment. IT will work well for spotting wildlife in the distance - so I can approach to shoot with my camera. ... show more
