  • Great value and good quality honey harvesting kit
The Duseu honey harvest kit is a good deal and contains most of the items needed for harvesting honey, except for an extractor. The two buckets are marked #5PP (Polypropylene), which is suitable for food. The holes in the buckets are drilled to fit the honey gates and the edges are smooth and clean. The buckets are marked 20 liters, which is about 5 gallons, and they come with lids. The honey gates are good quality and includes silicone o-ring seals. There is also a lid opener in the kit for opening plastic bucket lids. An other handy tool is the bucket rest that goes on the edge of a bucket when draining honey from an other bucket. The bucket can be set on the rest and left to drain without having to hold it. There are two comb capper boards included, which can be placed on the edge of the bucket for uncapping the honey frames. The boards have a groove on the bottom side that fits on the edge. There is also an uncapping knife and an uncapping fork in the kit. The knife is serrated on both sides, which is nice. Some other brands are only serrated on one side. The refractometer in the kit is for measuring moisture in the honey. There is a small bottle of calibration fluid in the case. This refractometer was off quite a bit when I tested it, and needed calibration. After calibration, the tested honey was at 17% which is normal. I recommend checking the calibration at leas once per harvest season. Also included is a sieve kit, with a course strainer and a fine mesh strainer. These are commonly placed on the honey buckets when extracting honey with an extractor to separate wax and debris from the honey. A box of latex gloves are in the kit. These are nice to have when handling sticky honey frames. The gloves have an expiration date several years from now. There is a frame grip too, for those who like to use them. Further there is a J-hook hive tool included. This type of hive tool is my favorite and I use it all the time. This is a well put together honey harvest kit and it’s a great value compared to purchasing each item separately. ... show more

  • Bot good quality valves. They don't seal. Huge Honey spill
Most of the products in the kit are acceptable. However the buckets are not as heavy weight as id like for the amount of product they can hold but the deal breaker are the valves for the buckets. PLEASE D O NOT USE THESE!!! The valves do not stay closed? The screws do not hold. We tightened several times and it doesn't seal. We unfortunately lost almost a gallon of honey during harvest because the valve popped open and we were scrambling to grB another container. Don't skimp on quality when harvesting your precious honey. Go with a better brand. This product does not hold up. ... show more

  • Great value on a full kit of extracting tools.
Overall this is a pretty nice starter kit for honey extraction. I guess it’s nice even if you’re not new/starting out. It’s a pretty good value if you price out the parts roughly even: Honey buckets - $70 Strainer - $20 Refractormeter $20 Uncapping bucket stand - $15. Right there alone you’re at $125 and there are a few more items.- bucket lid tool, uncapping knife, uncapping fork, drain stand (only good for nearly empty bucket), spare hive tool, and some latex gloves. I consider the latex gloves a miss with the number of people with latex allergies I would not want to use these when extracting honey - but I can use them for other things. The buckets are a softer material than some of the name brands, but they feel solid so I definitely call this a good deal even if you don’t need all the extras. Nice kit. ... show more
