I wanted a safe with both a keypad and biometric scanner and settled on this one for the price and size. This is a great value and really solid. I've seen safes with thicker walls made out of heavier and denser steel, but I think that's a bit of overkill. If you don't mind owning a safe made in China (the biggest con of this safe for me), this is totally adequate and a good find for the price tag. Hope this helps! ... show more

The safe is on the small side but fits most guns (if they are not too long). It's not gun-safe thick metal, but it will keep an honest man honest and/or the guns out of kids' hands. I don't think it will give much fire protection either. But for the price it is nice. And it has Biometirc and keypad options. The directions for the biometrics work great - easy to follow and set up. The user keypad code instructions are not as clear. With the safe open, you have to enter the 1234# default code, then immediately hit "*", then the new sequence of numbers you want, and the "#" key. Do not pause between the 1234# and the "*" new code "#". It took a lot of trial and error to figure that ... ... show more

Safe will not open even if you open with key code or fingerprint. You still get the OK for successful input but still locked. What a counter productive safe.

Needed a safe for my rifle, shotgun, and a couple handguns and this checked off all the boxes. I wanted something with a biometric lock for quick access. This came with the necessary hardware to mount against the wall so it doesnt tip over and I didnt have any issues with the setup at all.
