  • Information in your hand. Information in your hand.
Format: Spiral-bound
First starting off with the spiral bound. It’s been so easy to search through the book for the exact time of year I’m looking for. First time gardener this year and I was looking to have something that I could constantly look back on with information when I needed it. This has everything from the type of soil you’re working with, how long you can expect your chickens to grow from ages and when you’ll start to see eggs. It has been so easy and comforting to have this instead of constantly having to go on the internet to look for that information. ... show more

  • Fantastic book.
Format: Spiral-bound
I love this book. Everything is broken down into simple sections, and i look forward to cracking it open to reference the upcoming season until I can get things down. Very good for someone who has moved onto some acreage and has no idea what the he'll they are doing. That's me.

  • The Backyard Homestead Seasonal Planner is perfect guideline to maintain equipment, home and land.
Format: Spiral-bound
Gave this to my daughter and she loves it. She likes the gardening schedule and times to plant, maintain and harvest and end of season. I am not sure this is plant specific, I didn’t ask. Timeline for homestead maintenance, farm machinery maintenance, gardens, pasture, home, land, etc. this is great. ... show more

  • Keeps Me on Track
Format: Spiral-bound
Got the Backyard Homestead book about a year before the planner and it was difficult to keep track on everything. Saw this on sale and thought I'd give it a try. Really informative about seasonal chores and what to check up on throughout the year. Even included a few ideas for projects to get started on later. Wish it would include more loose pages to document yourself or handy conversation tables/estimates for bulk items, but those are my only complaints. Overall 4/5. Fantastic planner and good supplement to the original book. ... show more

  • Love the layout
Format: Spiral-bound
I love the way this book is laid out, giving succinct advice for what to do, not only each season, but early spring, late spring, early summer, etc. It seems to cover just about anything a homesteader might have going on, with just enough info to get you moving and not get you bogged down. It just helps to have a roadmap of sorts to organize the endless tasks inherent in having land and critters. ... show more

  • Not a how to grow things book!
Format: Spiral-bound
The book seems well written and planned out but it’s very important to know that this book’s focus is NOT on planting and growing vegetables for a simple backyard garden. It focuses on a lot of seasonal high level concepts like prepping your farm soil and tuning up tools. and not on details like “how to grow bush beans”. ... show more
