  • Perfect Solution for a Car Rear Entertainment System Perfect Solution for a Car Rear Entertainment System
Two 14 inch Android Tablets with Roku Streaming Stick 4K's connected to the AT&T in-car WiFi with unlimited data plan. The power cable is hardwired to the interior fusebox and the power cables are ran through the headrest holes into the inside of the driver and passenger seats and routed under the floor mats into the driver's side trim near the door weather grommet. The tablet's turn on when the car turns on and turns off vice-versa. They have a nice startup screen and default to the HDMI input straight into the Roku home screen seamlessly. Each child has their own color coded remote and headset. I opted for a wired connection with the headset as Bluetooth has a 1 second latency with the sound and video. This allows the kids to watch what they want individually without bickering and allows us to leave the iPads at home. I always wanted a screen for my kids and was disappointed that there was not an OEM solution. Nonetheless, I think I found the perfect solution and my kids should be happy. ... show more

  • Best investment to keep the peace in the car!
I wanted an entertainment system where each kid could have their own screen and be able to watch whatever they want, play their Nintendo Switch on it, or all watch the same movie in sync. I researched headrest solution but didn't like how small they were. They also do not allow you the ability to upgrade to bigger screens. This Android tablet with customized "Rear Seat Entertainment" system is perfect. 14 inch in 4K resolution. It easily connects to my phone's hotspot. And given that it's Android and comes with Pay Store and APKPure pre-loaded, you can install various streaming and gaming apps. That said, I would caution you on being careful about what you install. I wanted to use Plex to stream from my home server. To do this though, I would need to connect via VPN. Since there's no VPN connection settings, I figured I would install OpenVPN for Android. That messed something! It caused my tablet to now have a lock screen that I could not unlock. This bring me to my point. Wang at Seventour was most helpful! After describing my situation, he send me a link to download an update.zip file to be place on a USB key and then have the tablet flash it by simply plugging it in and turning on the device. After 15-20 mins, the device was back to default. Thank you so much Wang. Amazing customer service! And an amazing product! Kids love it. Parents love it! :D ... show more

  • Will update if they fix it
Purchased this a month ago and have used it almost daily. Here's the reason we returned: the Bluetooth won't connect to more than one pair of headphones. So if you have more than one kid, you'll have to use the speakers which sit right behind your ears..not fun. The headphone jack on one monitor has a short, and the speakers randomly go out. Both monitors occasionally will have a pop-up that won't go away asking you to restart the monitor.. Over and over and over again. As is, they are not worth the $700 I spent on them. Amazon has issued a return and I ordered a replacement so if the new ones are better I will update my review. Maybe I got a lemon. We will see. ... show more

Great product, easy to set up and use in the car, at home or in a hotel room. I recommend getting an additional SD card for storage. Super easy to configure.

  • Very happy with product Very happy with product
So I was nervous about the product, but all in all I wanna say it came out pretty good. I would definitely do your own research on your individual seats and check to make sure you're gonna be able to route the wire clean so that it actually looks good. If you just have wires everywhere you're just lazy and gonna make the equipment look trashy. So give it justice and make your work look good. One main thing I don't like is the workaround to actually download a cadillac emblem during boot up, and even then it disappears to then bring up a formatted home screen I don't like either. There's different options but I didn't like any of them. They're bland and not really good. It's an Android device so I thought I'd be able to configure more but nope. You can't. Besides that it works and I think there should be an update that allows you to do more. I just wish there was a feature that allows you to just keep whatever car emblem showing, like a screen saver when the tablets aren't being used. ... show more

  • Could be amazing but what they lack under the hood hurt their capability Could be amazing but what they lack under the hood hurt their capability
Let me start by saying the good things about these devices are very good. Overall I'm happy with them however there is a lot of missed opportunity here. Essentially these devices are twin tablets that happen to have an HDMI in capability. These tablets also have FM transmitters and modern Bluetooth capability to a point. It comes with lots of cables that allow you to hardwire it to your car's system, however I chose to keep the setup more simple. It comes with a single cigarette lighter Style plug with two cables connected to it that can be ran to both devices at once, or dual 110 plugs which would need to be run separately however these are not as long as the cigarette lighter cables. Thankfully my second row has both 110 Outlet, Cigarette Outlet and twin USB ports so I went to cigarette lighter route as the wires are nice and long and allow them to be hidden easily As you can see in my photos I did not use the included brackets for installation. My vehicle does not have traditional headrests. However I was able to use a tablet wall mount system and make it work for my setup. I would say my genuine big complaints about these devices are as follows (The Bad) 1. They are lacking on RAM. These devices only have 2GB of RAM each for the price and for what they are capable of this is simply not enough. You can install retro emulators on these devices and have a classic gaming setup in your vehicle had they had more RAM it would run perfectly but 2 GB won't cut it. Even having more than a few programs open in the background can cause this device to struggle a bit. Programs like Netflix and Hulu take a little bit long to get going compared to a modern smartphone 2. In the advertising for this device it's marketed for its HDMI in capability. Many people feel they could set up gaming in their car and yes it does work with gaming systems as long as your car can power them. The big problem is the latency with the setup. There is no game mode option as you would have on a TV and the latency is significantly more than a regular TV even with game mode off. Input lag would make any type of game that requires reaction unplayable. Both devices have HDMI in and HDMI out the HDMI out cable can be used to sync the devices together to display the same content however there is going to be some audio lag even there so I don't use this feature that often. It's not really needed as anyone can watch what they want independently 3. The Bluetooth capability is confusing. On one hand it has a modern Bluetooth setup I use Bluetooth headphones and don't have any voice syncing issues. I can watch movies or shows with no problem as long as the headphone device you are using has the latest Bluetooth. Most Vehicles do not have latest Bluetooth so using Bluetooth to listen to shows over the car speakers isn't really a great option at least not in my vehicle a 2019 Navigator. I personally would not use a complicated audio setup with these devices and if you wish to listen to movies or TV over the car speakers just use the built-in FM transmitter. If your vehicle has a more modern version of Bluetooth then go ahead and give it a try. Secondly I had planned on using an Xbox game controller via Bluetooth control some emulators I downloaded however for some reason these devices will not pair with it. 4. These devices only come with 32 gigs of storage. They have expandable storage options however they cannot be merged and used as internal storage. There's also a strange app install limit you can only install a certain amount of apps before the custom Android operating system no longer allows you to install apps even if you have ample storage space left. Don't get me wrong you can install quite a few apps but I hit the app limit and had to pick and choose which apps I really wanted on the device. This is a very odd limitation and I'm not sure why that is probably because of the lack of RAM. (The Good) 1. The devices come with nice long wires that can be hidden under carpets in Nooks or even with discreet holes in the back of the seats. They also come with lots of options for wiring so you can get as complex as simple as you want. 2. HDMI in and out is a nice feature even with the major latency for gaming as I mentioned before having a tablet that you can also use as a TV it's pretty cool. 3. The Android system is pretty simple to use. Anyone who's ever operated an Android tablet will have no problem using this. The Google Play Store comes ready to use as well as APK pure for apps that Google Play won't allow you to download on this model. 4. The FM transmitter is a very Nifty convenient way to get the displays to play audio through your car without any complicated wiring especially if your car doesn't have a modern version of Bluetooth that would allow seamless audio video syncing. I live in New York City so finding a clear FM station is difficult however you can usually find something acceptable. I would suggest a decent pair of bluetooth headphones with the latest Bluetooth as a primary option however. In conclusion I am pretty happy with the purchase. They really souped up fancy Android tablets however underpowered they may be. Aesthetically they are nice, the mood lighting is nice. They will play nice with a tablet wall mount either strong adhesive or with a few self-tapping screws. If only you could pay more for some more RAM and storage I definitely would have. However if you think you're going to set up your Xbox or Playstation in your car and play Call of Duty or something that requires very little latency this is not your device you might be better off just purchasing small 14-in displays ... show more
