I know a lot of the reviews for this product appear to be actually for the wrong product. I am revewing the GrowthWing 14,000 BTU Portable AC unit which does its job quite well. I am using it to cool a large bedroom only, with vaulted ceilings. I have the unit set to 74* and it feels like an absolute ice-box in the room even on the hottest days outside. Will it cool and entire home? No. An entire floor in a home? No. One bedroom/office/den/etc? Yes, and it will do it well. The operation of the unit is what you would expect, you hear it, that's for sure, but for what it is it's quiet and smooth enough. Mine has no rattles or vibrations that people speak of. Installation was straightforward and with what was in the box, I was able to install it quite well I would say, and I am happy to have the product in my home. Its not super ugly, and the performance outweighs the unsightliness of these units. Personally, I give it 5 stars.

Failed in 5 weeks: Five short weeks after delivery this unit threw an F1 code (temperature sensor failure) and stopped cooling entirely. Unplugging, resetting, and cleaning the filter did nothing. The error came back every time. This happened four days after the return window closed, during a heat wave, with my father here, in my home. Brand support is a phone line open weekdays 7 AM to 2 PM. Too hot and bothered to spend more time on this but want to let folks know: the spec sheet lists actual cooling at 10,000 BTU, not the 14,000 in the title. And since I bought it, the listing price has more than doubled. Womp womp. GrowthWing, if you're reading this still!! Build something you'd put your name on, answer your customers, and price it honestly. I would not buy this again. I do not look forward to rebuilding, sweating tonight, or sending this giant machine back.

It’s been operating in an attached 2 car garage for about 5 days now. Has brought the temperature from mid 90s to 79 where I have it set. Zero issues with this A/C unit. I’ve read other reviews where people have had problems. My unit sat for several days before I unboxed and used it. I don’t know if the extra time being left alone helped or if the others just received defective units. I personally am extremely pleased with this purchase. I have the plastic drain hose attached that drains the water from the unit so I don’t have to drain the unit. I would definitely buy this again.

4.5 stars for how well it works but this thing is so loud! The cycles wake me up all night long as it turns back on. I wish the fan would stay on at all times. For the price though, this was a good buy so far. My bedroom is in the attic that is about 300sq ft and this cools it down great, even when it’s 100+ degrees out.

I got the unit and let it rest. 24 hours like the instructions said. Plugged it in and the compressor would not stay on for more than about 30 seconds. So it keeps cycling on off on off. It blows cool air for thirty seconds and then warm air.

So far so good! I had no issues with tripping the circuit breaker, and it stays on all night without any compressor issues. Maybe the other reviewers received a bad unit or they have too week of a circuit for an 14,000 BTU a/c. I have mine plugged into a standard 110 outlet. Unfortunately, as would be the case, once I bought an A/C the outside temps have gone down. We did have one day that was in the upper 80's and humid and it seemed to work very well for a 600 sq ft space. The auto evaporation also appears to be working properly. I wanted to have a second window kit so I could move the unit from one room to another without having to take apart the window kit every time. I messaged the company via Amazon and they responded super early the next morning (they must be in a different time zone than me). They asked a couple of questions to make sure of what I needed, which I responded to and the next day they asked for my address and sent another hose kit with 2 day delivery. I would say that was really good customer service.

Summary: Works great. Info on product page and/or reviews may be confused. The 14,000 BTU model HAC904WF arrived very quickly after ordering, was easy to set up, and is working great. I've had it in use for four days; with a couple of fans to circulate the cold air, and a couple of little-used rooms closed off, it's keeping the rest of my 1,200-sq.ft. house a comfortable ~70 degrees (even lower until very late in the day) during a string of unusually hot days here in the mountains (daytime highs above 90 degrees). So far, it is working 100% reliably with no problems encountered. The "KoolLink" app was also very easy to set up on my iPhone and connect it to the unit. The app, too, works reliably, and it allows you to control most of the air conditioner's options from your phone. I'm not so sure about the quietness claim, or at least the dB figures. I find it pretty tolerable--certainly quieter than the old window units I remember from back in the day. Standing 12-15 feet in front of the unit, my Apple Watch Noise app reports 53 dB when the fan is on "3" and 48 dB when it's down to "1". I haven't tried "Sleep" mode, which I assume is kind of a gimmick anyway, but I'm able to sleep near the unit when its fan is set to "1". It's astonishing the number and variety of portable A/C units and brands available on Amazon (as usual, many may be the same innards under different brand names), and my impression is that there's confusion--maybe more by Amazon's system than by customers--about what's being reviewed. I believe that may explain the remarkably low rating for, supposedly, this unit. All I can say from hands-on experience is that *my* model HAC904WF is great. If that ever changes, I'll update.
