The media could not be loaded. I received a used item, not new like I purchased and here's why. It arrived in a cardboard box, no product box included. It did have a new window kit and instructions. It did have this plastic sheet but nowhere did it mention it in the instructions. Hooked it up fine. Plugged it in. It turned on. Swing button would not work. I was able to get the swing button on the remote to work but it stopped working the next day. I had put in new batteries on the remote and even change them. Air blew out the vent initially in cool mode. Started making a rattling sound, like ice banging around. The air was cool so I ignored it but water was squirting out the vent. You could also hear the sound of water dripping. The next morning I could feel the air coming from the vent, not that cool and it didn't keep me from sweating due to the temps. I decided to put the mode on dehumidify. Still continued to make sounds like ice rattling inside. Temps outside in the 70s. 24 hrs later I switch back to cool mode. Air restricted to 1/4 of vent due to the water blowing out. Air is still not cool. Switch back to dehumidify mode. Get an alert to drain bottom, which i do with no change. Top drain has been continuously draining into bucket with plastic hose provided. I had called the company located in Cali. Agent was super nice. She arranged for tech to reach out. Received an email from them stating the issue was the unit wouldn't turn on which wasn't correct. I should've known a 14,000 btu wouldn't sell for $350. I'll be returning.

My house is cold. This was super easy to put in and get working. We did have to modify the window piece, but that was easy peasy lemon squeezy. It's no louder than our window unit, but it's not silent. It looks nice. It's a little big, but we have a very small house. About the only problem we're hitting is when the bucket we use to collect the water overflows. This thing is dehumidifying like a beast and makes a lot of water.

And then our central air went out in the middle of this heat wave (OH) We brought it inside for the living room kitchen area and it has been phenomenal. This unit cools quite nicely and is nice and quiet. For the price I would say that it’s worth the money. The reason for the 4 star review is that I did not care for window slide bar. It did not have edges on it for it to set in the window frame. I had to notch it out. The unit also did not come with any adhesive weather stripping for sealing the slide bar in the window. Overall installation was pretty simple. Not sure about its functionality. I am only using it cooling at this point

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Absolute garbage, does not stay on, barely cools even area around device. Loud when running, and very noticable when it's constantly turning on and off and the room is still 20 degrees warmer then you set the AC for.

Bought this during the heat wave and it showed up a few a few days later. Longer than an average amazon delivery but for the 2 weeks I had it seem worth it. Week 1 was amazing and would've given it 5 stars just for how quickly it cooled the house. Week 2 not as cool but I just thought we got use to it or something. I also noticed water was on the top and a bit on the floor. I just figured it was normal but qasnt sure because it was my first tume owning a portable. Yesterday I noticed we were still a bit warm so I just turn the temp down. Today woke up and my 4 year old said water is sprayin from the unit. I noticed it too and also that it was making a bit of a rattle noise but didn't pay it much mind at the time. After everyone was sleeping I realized I was hot so I went to check the temp and realized there was a lot of water on the unit, so shined my light into it and noticed that was alot of water. It's also a dehumidifier so I just figured it was from that. Took it outside to empty it and a good amount came out but the inside part where it air should be coming gout was just full. I decided to read the instructions again to see if there was a different way to drain it and there wasn't so I got concerned and started opening all the parts that allowed me to without tools and that's when I discover a HUGH block of ice on the unit. I Google and apparently that's not normal so I followed Google instructions and left it unplugged in hopes that the ice will melt but also following chat gpt advice and will be returning it because if that happening this early that means its a refrigerant issue that will require a professionals service to fix. My Uncle works in that industry and he agrees that it's best the return and get a different unit. 2 stars only because it worked so well that first week. They just have to fix that major bug.
