Most of my trail cameras are 6V of 12V and eat up AA batteries 8 at a time. Changing out these batteries can get expensive and reduce the dependability of the cameras. An alternative to the standard 8-AA batteries is the use of a larger 12V or 6V battery or a solar panel with power storage incorporated. To use an external power source, most cameras have a female power jack. To use a 12V power source with a 6V camera you need to convert the 12V current to 6V using a 12V to 6V power converter such as Amazon item number: B0BYVBNKHM (do a search using this code to find the product). Wire this converter in-line between the battery and the camera. This battery is small, light weight, rechargeable, and has the capacity to power most cameras for months without recharging. So far, this battery is doing well and has helped the reliability of my cameras.

Received the battery in a box. The box was small in comparison to other batteries packaged in a box. I picked up the box I was struck with fear; fear: it didn't, the weight, weigh as much as my other batteries. I open the box and yes it was a car/truck battery. I had to do a double look at the cold starting amps on the side of the battery. Yes, this is the recommended battery for my 2008 Sierra GMC extended cab, 6.2L engine truck. Hmm. I installed the battery, it fitted nice and easy - no haggling to get the battery in the right spot - locked in, too easy. I started up the truck. The battery was strong. The truck started up with a roar. Watch me jump for joy. Now, the real test - how long will this battery last?

I’m using this battery in series (for 24VDC) with another similar battery for a solar dual gate opener. The opener includes a charge controller. This battery includes a BMS (Battery Management System), so the battery controls charge rate properly, as well as low voltage cutout (both to protect the battery and to prevent overcharging fires). It’s a great solution for this application, as well as many others. The battery is relatively light, so when installed in the box, the load on the mounting screws is reduced. All in all, a perfect battery for my application.

What I like: - Small and light weight What I don't like: - Small connectors - Plastic shell feels fragile - Limited capacity is tradeoff for size/weight I needed a 12v battery for a small solar project, mostly to act as a buffer between the panel and the electronic devices I was charging. As capacity wasn't a top priority I chose this 5AH battery from Wuldnmar and it is almost perfect for my needs. The big win for this battery is that it is much smaller and lighter than lugging a traditional 12v car battery around. This battery weighs about a pound (2kg) and has a footprint smaller than most cellphones. Hooked up to my 20w solar panel via a small charge controller and it is the perfect storage solution for my charging station keeping the juice flowing when the odd cloud crosses the panel. On the down side, I would have liked larger tabs on the battery for connecting wires. Fortunately I found some 10gauge wire connectors that fit securely and could use them. In addition, while working on the project I found myself worrying about knocking the battery far more than I would with a regular 12v battery, The case of the battery is a slick, shiny plastic that feels brittle. I plan on getting a case or box to hold the battery and teh charge controller, and will definitely be adding some thick rubber tape around the battery to protect it from knocks and bumps. In conclusion, the battery is doing exactly what I wanted. It is charging happily from the panels, and supplying my devices with a steady power supply to keep my phone, speaker, and laptop charged while I'm out and about. A solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Overall happy with this battery, it's quite small, smaller than my 7Ah airtravel unit, and very light. I didn't know what to expect capacity wise, I got 4750mAh out of the advertised 5000 which is a solid 95%! The test discharge rate was 1/3C (of advertised). One minor thing I noticed is that the manual specifies max charging of 1A, this is rather low for a 5Ah pack, I'm chucking it up to translation or one insert for many different packs (the same "spec" sheet includes all of their packs, from this one all the way up to a 150Ah unit). I will be charging this at 1.5-2A myself.

I did a battery rundown test with a wattmeter, and found that the actual usable capacity of this battery is only 3.1 Ah, not 5 Ah. Very disappointing. Otherwise, it's fine I guess, though I assume either there's fewer cells than there should be or they're old cells that are being reused, leading to the reduced capacity, which doesn't make me feel confident in how long it will last.
