Description

Repair function The repair function: if your battery drains to just about empty, it will be sulfated. This device claims to repair that condition so it can function normally again. Connect the cables to the battery, then plug it in to house current. Press the Mode button to cycle through Car/AGM/Motorcycle, then one more time so that none of the indicator lights are on. You are now in Repair mode. The screen will read "PUL." Leave it plugged in and connected for several hours or overnight. It goes through the repair cycle, then charges the battery fully, then shuts off. The images show the charger unboxed and using it. This charger looks to be well made although I think the wires for the battery clamps are a bit on the small side. It’s multiple modes of function are a nice feature for different lead acid batteries make this charger versatile. I didn’t require any batteries in my vehicles or equipment to be charged so I connected it to my lawn tractor to test its operation. It only took a few minutes to complete its charging function but it worked perfectly. The photos are probably not in order but you can see the process it went through. I think it’s a nice feature that this charger has the pulse repair function as well. This mode can help remove calcium from the lead plates which reduces battery performance and life. Another improvement I think would make this charger better would be a case to store it in and to be able to more easily carry it with you. I think this charger is a good product and I would recommend it! ... show more

The following is my objective review and unbiased results of my experience with this product. I have provided pictures and video when possible. I don't *do* unboxings. I really try to "tell it like it is". I am posting this review possibly early, because I need to test this device a little further to give it that fifth star which it may deserve. First off, the enclosed instructions (yeah, I'm one of those people who reads instructions) suggest/require that the battery be removed from the vehicle for charging. I did not do that, nor was I real happy about that not being mentioned in the Amazon information listed with the item. Most battery maintainers don't require this, and who wants to pull the bat just to keep it charged? I used this charger on my winter vehicle. It sits under a car cover most of the time, and is only driven in the winter. I got this charger to maintain the battery. ( I usually use solar panel chargers, but have found that they don't work when used under a car cover.) Before testing, picture one will show the battery at 12.42 volts. After connection, voltage began to increase rapidly. Amperage output at the beginning was about 6.2. There was some discrepancy between the charger and DMM as far as voltage readings, but I don't consider that too important. I also was not concerned with temperature readings. At one point, about 14.5 volts, both devices measured the same voltage. At around three hours, voltage was over 14.7 volts, and showed no signs of stopping, so I shut the charger off. I was under the impression that a battery maintainer would stop at a certain point. Since this thing was approaching 15 volts, I was not inclined to see how far it would go with this vehicle. The battery was not boiling however. I will further test this charger on another battery not in a vehicle and see if it shuts down. If it does not, I will not be using it on my Jeep, as I don't think I could trust it. I note that the power cord going to the charger is very small, but it did not get hot. I have not tested any of the other modes at this point. If the manufacturer wants to get back to me about my concerns, I will be happy to discuss it with them. I may edit my review after further testing, but I can't recommend this charger unless it's monitored. UPDATE MAY 16 2023 I tested the charger on a battery not in a vehicle (it was a small UPS battery that I haven't installed yet). The battery was almost fully charged before I connected to it. The charger correctly identified the voltage of the battery, ran for about 15 seconds and shut off. I have updated my review to 5 stars. ... show more

    • Useful Battery Charger to maintain a full battery charge.
There are times that one or more of our cars may sit for weeks without being started, More than once I have then found a low battery. Our oldest car has a slow parasitic battery drain that the shops cannot seem to locate. We've managed to damage 3 batteries in the past 18 months with the battery being completely drained. Hopefully a weekly charge with this charger, will get us a few more years out of the car and the current battery. I'll update the review once I gain more experience with this charger, but so I find it to be a good product. ... show more

    • Standard battery charger with a good price
This is a nice battery charger for the money. Minimal bells and whistles but gets the job done. Pretty compact and easy to store when not in use. The clips are basic but effective. For the price, this is a great piece of equipment to keep your battery charged and your car ready to go. It won’t bring a dead battery back to life but will keep a good battery ready to go when you’re not driving your car very often.
