I received the bulbs a few days ago and had to wait to plant them until today. The bulbs were healthy with some roots and little sprigs of growth. They came in a nice little sealed envelope that kept them moist. I immediately put them in a container with paper towels and water to keep them moist while waiting to plant. Today some of them had grown already from just being in the wet paper towels! I'll update once they start to grow. So excited for these beautiful flowers to start to show! These were all sprouted, not too wet or dry. Tubers were plump. Largest about the size of my pinky, which is a nice size for this plant. 14 in all which will fill a 10 or 12 inch pot very nicely. They will need thinning in a yr or so. I recommend planting immediately as the little sprouts are very delicate and will dry up quickly. ... show more

Update a month later. May, 16th.Mine started sprouting flowers about a week ago. These grow super fast. I did order a second package to fill in the pots but, I didn't need to fill them in. So, I'll plant those in their own pots. I still think these look more like butterflies. UPDATE! Holy Moly, these are bursting. In less than 2 weeks. I just ordered another package to fill the pots in. I have them out in my deck. Started them under grow lights. THIS IS A MUST BUY🩵 Upon opening the package I was pleasantly surprised that all but, two were already rooted. I counted almost 18 bulbs in my package. I've wanted this plant for so long. To me, it looks like, Butterflies and, it's purple. Both are significant in my life. My daughter passed away and, got her wings. Purple, for epilepsy. I'm naming her, Chay after my Angel. There were no instructions included with the packaging, I had to go online to try and find instructions on how to grow these bulbs. I did everything correct, and they died.

This product arrived without planting instructions. How far apart, how deep to plant etc. I planted these little bulbs as soon as I got them as per instructions. Each bulb had started to sprout. But since planting they have died. I hope that doesn't mean that is it! The bulbs recovered and grew very fast, it is already blooming. But I am disappointed with the colour. I was expecting the vivid purple as advertised but got a dark almost black maroon, with purple centre. I am really happy with how the plant performed but I really wanted the vivid purple, the reason I ordered this. ... show more

    • Beautiful plant, however...
3 stars is due to the fact that only 4 bulbs sprouted. A couple of the reviews stated the same, but i couldn't ignore how colorful the plant is and will be a great complement to my garden.
