I don't often write reviews, but I think this company & product deserves one. I have tried several brands of dehumidifiers, and have been dissatisfied with most of them. This unit actually extracts a great deal of moisture from the air. It has kept my space dry, which has been an absolute lifesaver. It is easy to operate and set up, and does its purpose well. Unfortunately though, after running the unit constantly for about a year, it started leaking, and the pump drain was not working properly. I was disappointed, because it had been working so well. I then contacted customer service. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they responded. They were attentive, and worked with me to troubleshoot the issue. They gave me clear instructions with photos, in an attempt to fix the problem. After several emails back and forth, it became evident that the problem was not fixable, and they offered to send me a replacement unit, free of charge. It is clear that this company stands by their product, and will address problems when they arise. The customer service responsiveness is outstanding, which is such an important thing when buying a product like this. Yes, these units can fail- but any machine like this is susceptible to issues. That's why buying from a company that responds when there is a problem and stand by their product is so important. I would highly recommend buying this dehumidifier. ... show more

My old dehumidifier went out after 5 years of service. So this is a upgrade and I’ve been very happy with it so far. It’s a huge improvement in the overall dryness and air quality of the basement within the first week. The power assumption is about the same. The old musty smell is completely gone, and the humidity level stays consistent even during rainy weather. The unit is considered quiet and runs pretty smoothly. I also appreciate how simple the controls are and how easy the setup process was. The metal case feels very durable and well-built compared to my old plastics one. Now even the air inside the house feels fresher, and I have much more peace of mind knowing moisture and mold issues are being controlled. Definitely an upgrade with new tech. ... show more

It seems to working great for my old basement. But doesn't ever get the space down to it's requested humidity level. But it it trying. The space smells a bit better and feels a bit dryer. It is always on and likely never turn off for my target percentage. Instructions say to let it sit in a space for 24 hours before use. I didn't do this - misstakenly. I like it. This dehumidifier is very effective and I am really satisfied with the purchase. I bought it for my basement. Sometimes it can get quite damp, with humidity reaching 70% during the muggy summer season. Since running this machine, it consistently brings the humidity down to a comfortable 45% range. There is basically no assembly m, and the set up was very easy and right out of the box. I currently have it running in my basement equipment room, which is convenient because I can just drain the water directly down to the floor drain pipe, avoiding manual work to carry and dump heavy buckets. Purchased the GT-XP5 dehumidifier which is a very effective piece of equipment that relatively quickly reduces humidity in any space, and maintains the user set level reliably. Definitely makes a significant difference in comfort. Full disclosure – the unit I ordered failed after 2 months of use, however, Airecoler’s customer support is unparalleled – very easy to initiate a conversation and painlessly reach a resolution should one encounter such an issue. Please note – dehumidifiers, for some inexplicable reason, tend to fail prematurely – no matter what Brand or manufacturer involved. I have had several different brands over three decades, and every one failed before its time at some point. The specific failure here could occur - and most likely has - across any Brand available. What matters MOST with this equipment is how well the warranty is backed by the Brand, and how easy or difficult the process is to resolve a failure. I can unequivocally say that Airecoler honors their warranty to the letter, and will go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the customer is completely satisfied with the outcome. Airecoler’s dehumidifiers are very well constructed, very powerful units that undergo continuous improvements based on historical performance issues. How many other Brands can make the same claim? Airecoler gave me the option of a complete refund, (which I could use toward the purchase of another dehumidifier) or, would send a replacement at no additional cost to me. Because I am so impressed with the company, its policies and the equipment, the choice was simple – I absolutely agreed to a replacement unit with complete confidence. Again – it cannot be stressed enough that ALL dehumidifiers fail...presumably an unfortunate by-product of the way the air conditioning components are arranged in order to dehumidify, and not air-condition a space (in the traditional sense of how we think of air conditioning). Because I was fully aware of this phenomenon with these things, I struggled during the painstaking challenge of deciding on which Brand to buy this time around. Compounding this are the challenges involved with shipping such a piece of equipment by common carrier - to which Airecoler understands quite well, as they make every effort to package these units to withstand most abuse that could be encountered during transport. The bottom line is that I like Airecoler’s products, I love the customer support, and who could ask for anything more when it comes to these fickle dehumidifiers? Works well right out of the box. The air flow is significant so heat build up can be an issue if you don't have sufficient air circulation. The instructions recommend adding a duct to the exhaust to prevent cycling the same air, and it's pretty good advice.

The unit pretty much ran nonstop for an entire month despite being a replacement for a large capacity upright dehumidifier that was being used in the same crawlspace despite the long drought we were experiencing at the time. A separate energy monitor indicated that it cost us $36 for that month that we did have it. Still cheaper than the upright dehumidifier and and box fan (circulation) that we were using. Did like the features on it but the display was somewhat distorted by the cover that is on the unit. ... show more
