First of all the price can’t be beat, the size is perfect for a few animals, well designed, decent quality, there were a few dings here and there but I’m applying a wood sealant to extend its life. I got this coop as a replacement for one we got from Tractor Supply a few years ago. This past winter was hard on the coop and I was looking for a little different layout to assist with food and water management. It is quite narrow, and I have already ordered different food and water systems since my larger ones don’t fit well. As far as quality goes, the one from TS was much more sturdy, with lots of metal assembly pieces. This one is almost entirely made of very soft wood. It went together fairly easily. We put it on a board wrapped in hardware cloth and zip tied it at the bottom. The latches seem pretty tiny and I will probably end up replacing them with something that makes me feel more secure. Others mentioned they didn’t like the open area into the nesting boxes, and I agree. I put a piece of cardboard in there for now. Overall I guess it’s okay for the price, especially compared to the ones at TS. But the ones at TS are definitely more sturdy, and have better quality materials. I haven’t tried to clean it yet. It has several areas that open. I think it says it can fit 6 chickens. I think 3 would be my limit. The roosting and nesting area is quite small. ... show more

Using for 4 hens, it is tight quarters. Also, blocked screen in the door as this causes overdraft to coop. Created a vent near the top for ventilation. Recommend for only 2 or 3 hens
