I am pretty torn on this review. I wanted to give this item 5 stars, however a couple of things hold me back. First, this is a good inverter. I'm not trying to say that it doesn't do what it is advertised to do, as a matter of fact it sends plenty of power when you need it. However it does have a couple of drawbacks. One, you really shouldn't use this to charge or power things that can't handle a surge. Phones, laptops, tablets....my tablet actually just wouldn't charge on this device consistently. I've since learned that's because of the way power is delivered with this unit. It's GREAT for running a small appliance if you need to: fans, lights, a cooler. NOT a hair dryer or other appliance like that, just simple ones that you might need to run if your power is out or you're camping. Two, this comes with cables to attach to your car's battery. However those cables are SHORT. So unless you want to leave the hood open and set your light, fan etc on the side of the car's hood, you're going to want longer cables. Three, this inverter says it can be powered by a car lighter so you can plug things in from the interior of the car. I wanted to use this to power a fan inside my car while car camping, but the car plug is NOT INCLUDED. I didn't realize that until the item arrived. While it's my fault for not reading reviews more closely and paying better attention to the product listing, I was disappointed all the same. Just be aware that this item does not come with the inverter. Overall, this is a good product for the price. It works well, as long as you are careful to use it appropriately. I like the LCD screen that advises your current usage stats. Just be aware of the limitations, and if you want to use it IN your vehicle, understand that you will need to buy a car adapter somewhere else.

But I will never know unless I spend more on proper heavy gauge wires and connectors to hook this up safely. It was supposed to come with a cigarette socket adapter to run the inverter according to the original description along with some wires to help something... Well it did come with wires. They were 18" long each. It I cannot hook up an inverter inside an engine compartment because of heat, what good does 18" of wire give me? They are useless unless I hook it up to my battery and hang it outside off the fender... ? I can only guess that there was no cigarette plug included because there is no way to safely pull that off and run 1200W without fuses blowing or fires starting. So basically I am sitting on a very nice looking technical marvel that was supposed to come completely ready to install but now is just a brick... unless I spent more on wires than the inverter itself. It also has zero instructions included, so one is left with the advice found on the internet for proper and safe installation techniques and not the manufacturer recommendations. So I learned a lesson... if you want an inverter so your car can power cool things and be properly installed and fire safe... dont cheap out. Buy once or cry twice.

I’ve been using this 1200W car power inverter for a few weeks now, and I’m pleased. Whether I’m charging my laptop during long drives or powering small appliances while camping, this inverter gets the job done. The LCD display is a great touch, it clearly shows battery voltage and power output, which helps me keep an eye on usage and avoid draining my car battery. The dual AC outlets and USB ports are super convenient. I can charge my phone, run a mini fan, and power my laptop all at once without issue. I had a smaller inverter that couldn't always handle the load from my chop saw. I find having a larger inverter to draw power from my truck works well when it's for a short time. It's much easier than dragging along a generator. This inverter is rated for 1200 watts continous and 2400 watts max. That should handle most things I need when working remote in my truck. The power provided is not "clean" power so be careful if using with electronic instruments. It will work great for most power tools though. The inverter came with two 16" heavy duty leads to connnect the inverter to your auto's charging system. The description mentions cigarette lighter adapter and alligator clips but none were included. For this size of inverter though, I recommend connecting it as close to the alternator and battery as possible. You will need a short distance and heavy conductors to reach the inverter's capacity. I intend to install this permanently in my truck, probably under the hood or maybe in a protected area of the rear bed. There it can operate with air to cool it and I won't mind the noise. For the power rating, the inverter seems to be a good buy. I knocked one start off for the misleading description about the alligator clips and cigaretter lighter adapter.
