This thing has made it possible for me to split my copious supply of short logs for my heating stove. I'm 77 and miss the days when I could (and did) swing an axe and make it hit within a quarter inch of where I wanted it to. Now I can put the log against the wedge exactly where I want it and get a bit of upper body exercise in the bargain, without the inherent danger of using an axe. It's slow, but so am I. It is seriously heavy, and the little wheels are useless on anything but a hard surface. The release valve is a bit sloppy, as are the linkages for the two handles (one is quicker, the other generates more power), but I am overall very pleased.

Dont waste your money. Broken after 1 log. Not worth the money. Right lever doesn't work at all now and the other side is struggling. Wood is seasoned 1 year. Shouldn't be struggling like this when I can split it with an ax

This little log splitter is a BEAST. It chews through 12" diameter Maple logs without [ME] breaking a sweat. Cons first- well, I guess you could say it's slow. Meh. It's using hydraulic advantage and my rotator cuffs aren't torn, so slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Pros- my unit is well-built. I've seen some reviews of guys who got shipped a Friday Afternoon model. Mine looks like Tuesday at 10am, because the welds are clean and tight, everything is square, and build quality overall is very good. It really DOES split this stuff easily. I just stand around thinking about how much I like candy and CRUUUUUUNNNNNCH, the log is split. So far I'm very impressed with this little unit. We're stocking up now for a Maine winter, so I'll update this review once we're full up, I'm right sideways, or this thing is stove up.

Update 3-13-26: Amazon Customer Service is sending a replacement unit. Upped the review to 3 stars. 3-9-26: 1 star. Does the job, but seals failed in a few hours of use. The low speed valve never worked. Which may have contributed to the high speed valve failing when trying to split a difficult hardwood 12" log. I need a seal repair kit for the two valves. I entered the model number from the parts list at the website but it was not recognized. Found out you could tear the log catchers off, as a previous reviewer mentioned. While splitting shorter logs, spacers were put in between the bottle jack ram and the log. As the log started to split I did not notice the spacer was pushing against the log catcher. The log split., along with the catchers. My bad. Make sure when using spacers that the spacer fits inside of the log catcher uprights.

Received ahead of scheduled date. Opened the shipping box and put it to work. Works great! I have split oak, sugar maple, pine and aspen. The only price it wouldn't split was a very knotty price of oak.

So I received it today and the Delivery guys were Awesome~! The unit came in a very well packed box with lots of Styrofoam to protect it. I split a few rounds and it does a good job. The learning curve wasn't too long and after the first few splits I found the perfect rhythm~! Now to get some more rounds to split~!
