It does the job but it's a bit smaller than the original. I suggest a drop of glue or loctite in the threads to keep it there.

Many suspenders that tend to be a bit dressier tend to demand buttons to be able to properly secure the suspenders to the slacks or pants. The problem is that many slacks or jeans do not have suspender buttons. That is why this is an almost perfect solution. It is a relatively simple task of merely poking a very tiny hole through the fabric, then affixing the button, and screwing the lack onto the button with the screws that are on it. This is a masterful and simple solution. Instead of scrambling around to try to find someone to sew a suspender button on, one is able to utilize this incredibly simple solution. I love this idea, and I cannot recommend it more highly! A most definite simplification of a potential challenge. Highly recommend!
