A: These locks work best with oval, round and thick flat laces. If you have thin flat laces, our Single-hole Cord Locks (charted above) are a better option, which accept more types of cord and still offer strong locking power. Q: Can I move the fastener lock without pressing the button? A: That's not the correct way to use this product. If you drag the laces anyway with the cord locking, the friction will damage your laces and those extra thin laces may slide under the clamp disc, and you will have to reinstall the lock. Q: Can these be used for 1/4’’ cords? A: No, they can’t. The cord hole diameter is 3.5mm, 1/4’’ rope can’t go though. But if you use them with 1/8’’ cords, they are perfect. Please do a little measurement to see if your laces or strings are within 3.5mm.

  • Better choices out there!
Color: Black
The spring is strong on these toggles, however the internal platform that hold the string in inadequate. A 3mm string constantly slips off of this internal platform and is no longer held by the toggle.

  • Cheep Solution for boot laces that don't stay tied
Color: Red
I was tired of having to re-lace my boots while walking simply because my hands are too stiff to make a tight bow. I searched for solutions that were elaborate and expensive but settled for these since there were a bunch of them in the box (12) and reasonably priced. I LOVE them! My hiking boots stay snug around my ankles. I have two pair as spares in my backpack and another in my pocketbook. My husband is well pleased with their functionality on a pair of old gaiters. Use a magnifying glass when threading the laces through the cord locks. I used a binder clip to suppress the button so that I could feed the laces through correctly. ... show more

  • Nice but don't grab like they should
Color: Grey
These look good and would probably be perfect if you have a rough, rounded shoelace or cord that you're trying to lock off. For my shoes, which have flatter laces that are a little slick, they didn't bite down enough, so the laces kept loosening.

  • Very Strong and Reliable for mask tie strings
Color: Red
I used this cord locks for my cloth behind the head tie masks. I got tired of trying to tie the mask strings behind my head and getting the mask snug enough, but not too tight. So I purchased these locks to allow for an easy tightening of the mask strings. They are somewhat challenging to put the flimsy strings through the cord lock holes, but once they go through, you will have a strong easily adjustable mask snugging system. I had to use a make shift tool (paper clip) to pull the mask ties through the cord lock holes though. ... show more

  • Sturdy springs hold tension well!
Color: Black
Bought these to use on various drawstring bags that use hunting and for hoodie hood strings. Another great use I found was for the draw strings on sweat pants. I always found the continuous loop draw strings on sweat pants to be annoying, but you don’t want to “lose” the strings so you put up with them....until now. I cut the strings fed them through one of these and tied knots on the ends fo the strings. Now I can just cinch the draw string tight using on of these! Worth the money for just this one use. Definitely would buy again. ... show more

  • Perfect to help my son learn to tie his shoes
Color: Brown
My son had dyspraxia. It means he has coordination issues. He doesn't like to wear shoes with laces because it's so hard for him to tie them. As he has gotten older, he's decided he wants to learn how to properly tie his shoes so he doesn't have to be embarrassed about this anymore. The problem is, being able to hold your cross knot tight while doing your loops. This product is great. It allows him to synch up his laces and know they will stay tight even if his loop knot does not. It allows him to just focus on tying the loop knot and know his laces will still be secure. We are viewing this as a scaffolding tool for him to learn the harder part of tying the shoe knot without worrying about the under cross knot getting loose. Once he has mastered the loop knot, he can transition to the under cross knot. Thanks for making these. It will definitely help him. ... show more

  • Good quality and would buy again - used for laceless shoe system
Color: Black
I have used these now on two pairs of shoes for my boys. For one pair, I bought a laceless system, but the lower part of the shoe was a little loose. Adding these halfway up the lacing allowed the lower part to be more snug, yet the upper part could be loosened to allow easy access. The second pair I did was just using these. I used the same approach for allowing the lower part to be tighter by putting one of these in and that works great. Now, the upper part is not quite as good with this as it does not lay flat. It holds, but I have another set of cord locks on the way that I will use for the top. So, good quality and will use these on backpacks and for laceless systems, but just may not use at the top of the laces. ... show more

  • Design flaw: doesn't secure cords
Color: Black
The "T" bracket edges don't extend far enough inside the well or frame, so standard diameter cords slip right past the bracket and are no longer managed, as happened to me right away - slipped out, unusable. But wait, there's more. The spring mechanism is so difficult to press in this miniature size that threading cords takes a long time and a ton of effort. Not worthwhile. ... show more
