This ladder is as advertised stainless steel. It is very sturdy. It can be extended and retracted easily and is very compact when closed so you can store it just about anywhere. The only possible negative is that it has more weight than an equivalent aluminum ladder. It is not uncomfortably heavy but if I were a contractor using it every day I would probably get an aluminum model. Since I do not use it all the time I opted for stainless steel that is stronger than aluminum.

This is not a work ladder. I used it to get up to 20' trusses for a few minutes at a time. I like the ladder length is real, not how far they think you can reach. The ladder rungs are spaced farther than normal but for the price I think it's worth it.

I felt helpless in my house very often because I needed help with stuff given we have 11 foot ceilings throughout. Sounds nice but it makes cleaning and upkeep really difficult sometimes. Hanging curtains with a step stool or something will not work. I researched the crap outta my options and chose this lightweight compact ladder and I’m thrilled. I completed so many projects in 1 day.

After reading countless reviews, I could not identify one that definitively stood out as the best. Even the most expensive ones had bad reviews. And the tests on YouTube videos were based on unrealistic scenarios (i.e. extreme low angle, hit with sledge-hammer). I chose this one because Amazon endorsed their 8 ft model. I weigh 170 lbs and flexing was not alarming at full extension. Only fair to mention that my application (narrow skylight tunnel) allowed me to use a steeper angle than would otherwise be advisable.
