I bought this 256GB unit and another competitors skull looking box. I was comparing them both, and planned to keep one, but I ended up returning both. This is my story. First, packaging and unpacking. The unit came with 2x remote controllers, each with their own dongle (each requires 2x AAA batteries). The controllers and the unit and accessories were all packaged in the same sturdy box together. The box was undamaged and felt pretty sturdy. I unpacked the unit and was amazed how small it was. I am familiar with the technology capabilities, but once in your hand, was just amazed at how much detail went into designing the case. Definitely would be a conversation piece to those who visit with less familiarity of the retro gaming console concepts. It looks like an NES, but smaller. The fold up bay in the front where cartridges would go on the larger original real NES, houses 4x USB 2.0 ports. This is where I plugged in the controller dongle. The start up was slow. Compared to the competitor's product (skull box) it was about the same, and it's loading off of a SD card, so the speed is what it is for the technology, not knocking of stars here for that. This unit, compared to the other, did not have as many emulators (a few short) but there were plenty of games. Like the competitor though, it seemed like a lot of games were in other languages and really aren't very playable unless you are bi-lingual (Japanese for example). So the number of advertised games is not really that if you are an English only speaker. Well, I speak some Hindi and Spanish, but that didn't help me here. Now, I had 2 problems. The first was I was unable to load some of my own ROMs onto the unit. I tried through the unit, and when that failed, I tried through the SD card itself, but I could not write them or get it to work. I had the same problem on the other unit, so the problem could be me and so I would not have been marking off stars for that. The second problem was the Intellivision Intellivoice games. The Intellivoice was not working. Without it working, Intellivoice based games would be useless. I still loaded up Tron Solar Sailer and it crashed within 5 seconds. I could still exit back to the launcher/menu, but I could not play or do anything else in the game. I thought perhaps this might be common given how old Intellivsion is (from the 1980s), but the competitor unit worked with Intellivoice and the games worked too. So I marked off two stars because if this simple thing doesn't work, how many other items don't either. For the price, I thought it should work out of the box. So I marked off two stars for that and I ended up returning the unit. Should you buy this unit? if you aren't concerned with Intellivsion Intellivoice games, then it might be okay, but if you are old and loved/wanted to play Intellivoice games, this may not be the unit for you.

This is my first time buying one of these so i didn't know what to expect. I am surprised at the number of games & systems that were put on here. Granted i would of made different choices on what's on here. A more curated list to be sure but perhaps the limitations of the hardware dictated the choices for systems & games. I wounder if i could edit & expand on what's offered here but if i do i will have to find that out on my own because trying to get those questions answered has been like talking to a brick wall. There has been Zero replies to my questions. Overall this is a not too expensive way to take a trip down gaming memory lane & relive some classics. But probably shouldn't expect anything beyond the 5th gen (with exception of course) to be playable. Also if you have questions best to look to the gaming community for the answers because that's likely the only place you will get them.

The media could not be loaded. I recently purchased the Super Console X Cube Retro Game Console and have been enjoying my gaming experience so far. The console works smoothly and I haven't encountered any freezing issues. One of the standout features is the wide selection of games, including duplicate versions from different regions like USA, EU, FR, JP, and others. This provides options for fans of specific versions or those looking to explore different gameplay variations. The console comes with EMUELEC, a user-friendly interface that enhances the overall gaming experience. It allows for easy navigation and seamless switching between games. I appreciate the convenience and simplicity it offers. On the downside, the controllers do not come with batteries and are of relatively low quality. While they are functional for the price, I would recommend considering Logitech wireless controllers or using compatible PS or Xbox controllers for a more responsive and precise gaming experience. One concern I have is regarding the safety and privacy of the console. To mitigate any potential risks, I plan to use the console offline without an internet connection. However, I did notice a folder named "com.adups.fota," which raised some uncertainty. Further clarification from the seller or manufacturer would be appreciated to ensure peace of mind.
