  • Compatibility, Ease of install, good quality, no heat issues.......
Size: 1) 1G/2.5G/5G/10G-T: 30m Number of Items: 1
I need a transducer to be able to connect the Mac mini using a Plugable 5G ethernet adapter to properly hook it up to my 10G aggregation switch. The price is good. No errors on my Unifi based Network hardware. Up until now no heat issues. practically Plug and Play, and now my mini can interchange data at speeds not know to it. The aspect of this transducer being mutispeed permits me to connect any pc at the speeds it can negotiate: 1.25, 2.5, 5 ( my Mac mini speed ) and 10G. Very nice addition to my setup. good quality. And very easy to install. As You can see in the picture, the bottom row second from the right is the 10Gtek transducer....... ... show more

  • Compatible for me with my UniFi equipment.
Size: 1) 1G/2.5G/5G/10G-T: 30m Number of Items: 1
I have 2 of these. - One in my UniFi udm-pro at 10gb to connect to frontier ~(2 years old) - one at 2.5gb in my UniFi us-xg-16 10 gb switch. In the us-xg-16 you should just plug it in and leave it configured at 10gb and it will auto connect to, in my case a Poe injector and a u7-pro at 2.5gb. It will show 10gb in the switch this is correct. If you try to manually configure it in the switch to 2.5gbps it will fail and be massively frustrating. ... show more

  • Runs Hot but Delivers Speed and Compatibility
Size: 1) 1G/2.5G/5G/10G-T: 30m Number of Items: 1
SFP+ to RJ45 copper transceivers run hot to the touch because they draw significantly more power than fiber optic modules, often over 3W, to process high-speed 10G Ethernet signals. The small metal case of the transceiver traps heat without an easy way to dissipate it, so these modules can reach temperatures up to 70°C (158°F) and feel very hot during normal operation. Fiber or DAC modules run much cooler by comparison. My 10G Setup: I. Dell Optiplex 7060 SFF i7 8700 (256GB NVMe M.2) running OPNsense A. • Avoid
Size: 1) 1G/2.5G/5G/10G-T: 30m Number of Items: 1
Device couldn't auto negotiate to 1.25 Gbps link speed. When I tried to force the link to that speed, it wouldn't work at all. No matter what I tried, the device just stayed stuck at 10 Gbps and wouldn't auto-negotiate to proper speeds when paired to any interface at varying link speeds. This caused issues when trying to communicate with my ISP via a WAN link. There is quite a bit of overhead as well, expect to lose about 200+ Mbps on your link, even when it does work. Runs hot. Quality is average. I feel like the compatibility isn't great. It was easy to setup. It has a single port capacity. All in all, I feel like this wasn't worth the price I paid. ... show more

  • Failed after about 45 days of use
Size: 1) 1G/2.5G/5G/10G-T: 30m Number of Items: 1
Update: 10GTek reached out to me and offered a refund if I returned the adapter. The thing that I most appreciate, however, is they asked for a lot of information about my system and how it failed. They want to test the returned unit to see why it was acting this way. I can't ask more of a company than to stand behind their products and try to better them as they find issues. I would be very comfortable buying more products from them knowing now that they will stand behind their products past the 30 day return window. This worked great for about 45 days as the WAN adapter on my Ubiquiti UDM, then all of a sudden I started having all kinds of speed problems, latency, and dropped packets. It correctly negotiated the port speed on the ethernet side (5Gb) and never ran hot. I thought it was an ISP issue but when I removed this adapter and went straight into the 1Gb ethernet WAN all of my problems went away. This is absolute junk and now the return window is closed. ... show more

  • Functional and versatile SFP copper transceiver
Size: 1) 1G/2.5G/5G/10G-T: 30m Number of Items: 1
This transceiver worked great in another switch I purchased from Amazon with a no-name Chinese company. I also used it in media converters (fiber to copper) for connecting directly to my computer. It automatically negotiates the speed and was extremely easy to install. It was also compatible in my Intel X710 network card that runs the network for my server to connect to my coax cable modem. The fact this SFP supports multiple speed options is also great because I connected it to a switch with only 10G but it worked fine connected to a 2.5G copper RJ45 jack without any errors, so it must negotiate and rate limit within itself. ... show more
