Perfect! Just what I needed and more . . .

When the 10Gtek arrived in the usual new "green" shipping package, I felt the "box" it wasn't the usual and I had to get this thing open and see what it is. The container it comes in is genius. It took the great deal I got and hope that it works to "Holy Crap this is So Cool!" and no doubts about it's operation. Upon opening the little metal box by sliding the top, there was the dongle. I had a bit of a problem taking it out of the plastic holder. But once out if it weren't for the way the device was presented I wouldn't have been as impressed. There's nothing initially special about any of these things, so it's not the only one that's "non-descript". Although it's a great value it doesn't seem cheap. I started to look for any specific instructions that if there were any special directions that needed to be considered. I took out the plastic holder insert the dongle came in and no little folded piece of paper with type so small you need a microscope to read it. But then noticed the instructions were painted on the under side of the lid which are simple, very readable and easy to understand. It fits like a glove when I plugged it in and is completely compatible with my UniFi UDM Pro and works without needing anything special. Pop it in and that's it. The system is showing it as if it were OEM. Make sure you use a minimum of a Cat6a cable, it does matter. The Heat Level, I haven't noticed anything more than warm. But I had the opportunity to add a fan, so I did. Speed wise, right now I only have a 1Gbps connection but I'm getting over the spec'd 940 Download/940 Upload speeds. This coming Saturday I'm having 10Gbps installed and I trust that I'll get darn near their spec'd maximum speeds. Can't wait.

These SFP+ modules work as described and are compatible with my Intel X710 NIC which is factory locked to certain modules. Of note, ethtool reports they are linked at 10Gb, even when connected to a slower port (i.e., a 1 or 2.5Gb), so there appears to be some sort of hardware abstraction taking place. They also run too hot to touch, which may be a non-issue. I had concerns about the lifespan of the modules and impact of heat on the hardware with which they're being used, so I decided to return them. As always, Amazon was easy to work with on the RMA request.

So far, so good working with my 5gig connection, they do get extremely hot to the touch, but I havenโt had any issues in the few months theyโve been in use about 8-10hrs a day.

I have an AT&T fiber Internet connection at 2Gbps connected as follows: AT&T modem 5Gbe -> CAT 6A -> 10Gtek module -> UDM SE SFP+ 10Gb port The AT&T modem shows negotiation at 5Gb, the UDM shows 10Gb. This 10Gtek SFP+ transceiver is appropriately negotiating it to 10Gb on the UDM side and 5Gb on the AT&T side. When I run a speed test from my UDM, the download is correct at near 2Gbps, but the upload is throttled to around 480Mbps through the 10Gtek. When I switch the AT&T modem to directly connect to a 2.5Gbe on the UDM, the upload speed jumped to over 2.2Gbps. So, for some reason this module is throttling down the upload speed. A quick Internet search will show that this is a known problem with the 10Gtek SFP+ modules. Edit: Seller replaced with the correct module that works at the lower speeds. This one only works at 10Gb on both sides of the link. Seller was very easy to work with and help me resolve the issue...so since this was not really a product problem, I'm changing my rating.

Been waiting on getting ๐ญ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ-๐ง SFP+ to RJ-45 Transceiver for over a year. With 20 VM's running on one 1gb port, I added a 10gb nic to the server and needed a 10gb port on the switch. So far it works great. bought to install in one of the SFP ports on a Ubiquiti USW-24 Ethernet Switch. Update 1 year later : About 2 weeks ago I started to get warnings about deplicate ip address on the SFP port. We did have a update to unifi os at one point within the month, but it started a couple weeks after. ignored it as it was just popping up in the unifi dream machine console and did not cause any connection issues. the dup ip's was showing up for each of my vm's running off the 10gb nic card in my proxmox server. it was reporting dups for each of my vms. to rule out any issues with the SFP as it had been running for a year already just about, I ordered another 10Gtek 10GBase-T SFP+. switched the SFP in today and so far no dup ip address warnings. so not 100% sure if it was the SFP or just some other randomness, I was in the progress of migration my storage array to 14tb disk, so maybe the io delays in proxmox could have been causing the issues. Going to move the old sfp up into another switch I use to run backups.
