As most posts have stated the build time will be long if power tools are not used. If you get a small drill with a philips bit you will probably save 3 hours or more on the build. The final result is a very sturdy solid wood bed that looks like it’s built to last. The seller was very friendly and informative stayed in touch with me during the delivery process and that’s a big plus. The bottom bunk will sleep two comfortably and the top bunk is single not necessarily only for kids as I thought when first buying adults can comfortably use this bed too for the price and quality of this bed it blows most of the competition out of the water. Similiar beds in this price range do not use solid wood like this one which uses solid Brazilian wood another big plus! I also bought an 11 inch sealey posturpedic for the bottom bunk and it fits perfectly with no issues for those wondering if 11 inch mattress will work on bottom it deffinately will! First time buying furniture online. I had my son's father put it together which he said it had a thousand screws but he also said that meant it would hold up. VERY NICE QUALITY! I suspect this same bed would cost 2 to 3 times as much in a furniture store. Solid wood and it is holding up nicely. I am very pleased with this product. I couldn't have gotten a better deal anywhere else. **Edited to add, as others have stated it would be best if you had electric tools to put together. It took my son's father an hour and some change to put it together. He said without power tools it would easily be 3 - 4 hours. ... show more

Pretty solid piece of furniture. However, there is absolutely nothing pre-built. The instructions are a step down from Ikea instructions for sure. Pay attention to every screw hole alignment in the pictures or you will build this thing 3 times. Frankly it just isn't intuitive. At the end of the day it is solid and astetically pleasing. 3 hours is probably realistic for most people but the company could make 3 or 4 tweeks and this thing could go together in an hour. ... show more

My boys love their beds. It's built to last... Nice thick wood. Very sturdy when put together. It's a great choice and later you can separate if you no longer need bunkbeds.
