I used these metal playground safety handles for an indoor climbing space for my 5-year-old, and they worked really well. The 17-inch length is a nice size, and the 1-inch diameter bar is easy for small hands to grip without feeling too bulky. The handles feel sturdy and well made. They are metal, have a smooth black finish, and are rated to support over 300 lbs, which gives extra peace of mind when installed properly. These safety handles are pretty decent. They're a good balance of lightweight for ease of install and heavy-duty to stand up to the elements and kid use. Depending on your application, you may need to swap out the hardware for some that suits your installation--our location didn't work with the self-tapping sheet metal screws included in the packaging. Once installed, these are pretty great. They have a little bit of texture for a sure gril, but they're smooth enough to not tear up hands or get too grungy. They're sized right for little hands, but also offer a good grip for older users, as well. They look great while I creasing user safety, so what's not to love?

These easy to install 17" metal playground safety, non-slip grab bars by Icokin are very well made and the perfect replacement to the plastic grab bars on the playground climbing set that we have in our back yard for our grandkids. The plastic handles didn't hold up well to the harsh effects of the sun and started to break down over time. These heavy duty metal grab bars have been in use for 3 months now and are as good and solid as the day they were installed. The price is a great value for the quality and quantity that you get. Highly recommended! This 6-pack of metal playground safety handles was perfect for mounting on the wall of my son’s tiny house, giving him a handy way to use them in his workouts to build core strength. The handles feel solid and reliable, and they’ve made it easy for him to add variety to his exercise routine without using much space. He often uses them to do “the human flag,” and they’ve worked really well for that because they provide a firm grip and a secure spot to practice. These handles are a great size at 17” and solidly build from steel. The walls on the tubing feel a bit thin, but the mounting plates are much thicker and, together, they provide adequate strength. We like that they have a nice durable powder coated finish but wish that they had more than one attachment point per side. Overall, this is a great handle that will work well for our application.

These grab bars only have a single screw on each end. They are strong enough for kids but I can't recommend them for elders. You want the extra screws in case 300 pound elders fall. But for kids at 100 pounds or less they are perfectly fine. They are thin enough to be used by kids and sturdy too. Yes, the bar would hold 300 pounds, but what about the screws? If you nonetheless use them for elder care be absolutely certain to use long screws and mount them into the studs, not plastic, lath, or anything other than a good solid mount. You want it to work even if a screw fails and with just 2 screws you can't take chances on a short badly placed screw. Do it right. The bars are great. They are made of strong rust resistant carbon steel. One and a half feet long and protected by rustproofing they can be used in wet areas like bathrooms and even outdoors. They are only one inch around, which is good for kids but also explains why they may not be right for elders. The bars include include all required short screws and 2 properly sized guideholes on each bar. The bars will slow a fall and even prevent it in the first place by giving your child a stable solid reference point as they negotiate obstacles. Durable and reliable I trust them for safety and recommend them. When in doubt install more grab bars! The kid loves them on her playground they give her confidence when climbing. Great for playgrounds and treehouses.
