  • Lightweight, user-friendly design with great accessories
To be clear, the model I received is NOT a *sliding* compound miter saw. It DOES appear to share most of the other features of the available 10” model, however. The price was so low that I was incredibly hesitant to order this. That and the blade in the photo looked terrifying and dangerous. Unboxing it, the machine was unexpectedly lightweight, and a depth stop bolt broke off either during the shipping or unboxing process. Fortunately, I discovered that this piece isn’t really necessary to operate the machine. The low weight, the price, the broken piece, the blade; I was not expecting much from this machine. Well. goodness, I was pleasantly surprised. Set-up was intuitive; I barely cracked open the manual. I really like many design touches with this machine. I love the way the angle markings are indicated, for easy alignment. The numbers are very easy to see and adjustments are a breeze. I like the 2-tier backwall fence with the sliding top tier pieces. I like the extension bars. I like the built-in workpiece clamp. Even the included blade cut more cleanly and gently than I anticipated. Of course the double blade guard is also much appreciated and visually unobtrusive. The double switch action is a bit clunky, but demands clear intention from the user (being the most important part anyhow). Common 5/8” round Arbor. I really can’t believe that I’m saying this, but this machine is a steal for the price. If you are a DIY’er with modest needs, or a professional that just needs something you can take with you to job sites, this machine might just fit the bill. The only issue might be if anything goes wrong with the machine. The manual states in the Table of Contents that the Warranty is listed on p.20, which is blank. There’a mention of Harbor Freight for ‘service’ but it isn’t really clear if replacement parts are available, nor how you are expected to source them or a qualified repair service. Please note that if you are not careful, it IS possible to slide the top tier backwall pieces in to where they can be damaged by the blade! Also please note that compound miter saws are one of the most dangerous powertools in common use and you should already be experienced with good safety practices on regular miter chop saws before graduating to this type of machine. A worthwhile investment for modest needs. ... show more

  • Ease of use and safe
Style: 10" Compound
Easy to use, handle and compact. Great safety features. If you never had a miter saw or are feeling a little crafty around the house, pick this up and see what you have been missing.

  • When You Need a Miter Saw That Doesn’t Live in the Shop
Around the Patrick Workshop, my main miter saw is a seasoned, 20+ year-old Hitachi with an 8-foot fence - a shop anchor that’s cut more boards than a Texas cattle ranch has fences. But lugging that beast around? Not happening. So when the jobsite calls and I need precision, I’m usually stuck measuring, mis-measuring (which I’m, let’s just say, “famous” for), hauling material home, making the cut, and driving back again. Not exactly a poster for efficiency. Enter the Marvtool 10-inch Compound Miter Saw: a lightweight, portable saw that’s happy to tag along for the ride - even if it’s not built to bench-press railroad ties. Summary This saw isn’t a shop-dwelling pro tool, nor does it pretend to be. But for occasional, light-duty work on the go, it absolutely earns its keep. Think of it as the pickup truck you borrow for a Saturday project - not the one you use to haul hay bales every morning. It makes good, clean cuts, and if you respect its limits, it’ll treat you right. Pros: ✅ Lightweight and portable at just over 25 lbs - easy on the back, easy to haul ✅ Makes good cuts - no trouble on standard 2x stock or trim ✅ Transparent blade guard and basic clamp system for safety and precision ✅ Locks securely at common angles (45, 90, etc.), and you can tighten the platter down ✅ Bevel and miter flexibility for compound cuts ✅ Extension table gives a little extra support ✅ Surprisingly reasonable build quality for a consumer-grade saw ✅ Dust port is vacuum-ready - ditch the bag and keep your workspace cleaner Cons: ❌ Not a sliding saw, so crosscut capacity is limited - don’t expect it to eat up wide planks ❌ The included 36T blade is... let’s say, “economical” - swap in a quality 60-tooth blade for way better results ❌ The clamp works for small stuff, but you’ll want a real clamp for anything larger than a 2x4 ❌ If you muscle it, the platter can still move, so don’t treat it like a pro-grade brute ❌ Won’t survive daily jobsite or heavy workshop abuse - think occasional home projects, not framing houses ❌ The included dust bag belongs in the same drawer as spare Allen keys and mystery hardware 🏅 Verdict: If your main miter saw is chained to the workbench and you just need something to toss in the truck for a Saturday siding job or a quick trim install, Marvtool’s 10-inch compound miter saw gets the nod. It won’t stand up to contractor-level punishment, but for the price and the portability, it’ll do just fine - especially if you’re willing to upgrade the blade and take your time. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4 out of 5 stars - solid for its class, but know its limits) ... show more

  • A cut above
Style: 10" Compound
It's quite a tool, easy to assemble. It's my first big saw so I am still learning.

  • Not the same saw I got.
I got a non-sliding saw on vine, and then they changed the listing to this sliding version so this isn't a true review of this saw. The one I got is a 10"-non sliding. It is what was expected It's lightweight, making it easy to tote around. It cuts good. Great for use on the job site if you're cutting a lot of 2X4s. The downside is it's not a sliding saw. The biggest board you can cut is a 2X6. But most lumber used in construction is 2x4 or 2x6, so it will work most of the time. The other thing I didn't like is the safety for the trigger is only on one side. It's fine if you're right handed, but I'm left handed making it difficult for me to use without making modifications. Still the one I got is an ok saw at a reasonable price. I would recommend it, but then, the saw in this listing isn't the one I got, although it is the same brand and actually an upgraded version. ... show more
