  • Awesome drill.
I have been drooling over this saw for awhile... probably since it came out but couldn't get myself to spend the money because I didn't have the use for it...well just bought a new house, and it's a fixer upper and I finally have a use for it. Granted I just got it...but out of the box I'm already impressed. Only have a 5ah battery (have a 12ah ordered) and with that it was cutting both 2x4s and 3/4" plywood like a knife through hot butter. Between the weight, ergonomic design and the position of the blade making a straight cut is extremely easy with one or two hands. The ambidextrous safety trigger is a nice touch, though takes some getting used to. And I love the blade light, very nice feature. Granted I can't speak about it's longevity, since I just got it, but I've never had a problem with Milwaukee. All my Milwaukee tools are powerful and extremely reliable and I'm sure this will be no different. And the shipping...I gave up prime because I got tired of paying for something that was supposed to garentee 2 day shipping only to wait 3-4 days at best to get it, so naturally I just used the generic shipping object....got it two days later even though it was projected to arrive at a min. 5 days out. Very impressed. The only thing I found odd but I'm not complaining, is it was shipped in a home Depot box from home Depot and not the Amazon retailer I ordered from. This doesn't bother me because I know a lot of retailers are simply brokers selling other companies overstock and what not, and I got it way cheaper than from home depot's shelf and still sealed in the original packaging, I just want to let others know so they arnt shocked. ... show more

  • Milwaukee
This things a beast. Cuts like a hot knife through butter. It is heavier than dewalt 60v skillsaw but it’s worth it. With a 6amp hour battery I get a full days use. Great saw super fun to use.

  • The saw I've been looking for
Since battery powered tools have improved lately, I've been making the switch. I build decks for a living and always need a good saw. I was pleasantly surprised with the power of this saw. It's fairly lightweight and the battery life is very good. I would say it works as good or better than the corded DeWalt saw that was my favorite in the past. Love building without the spaghetti mess of power cords on the job site. ... show more

  • Powerful and accurate, just a couple small flaws
Bought this saw to build a 44x60 pole barn. I would absolutely buy the same saw again. However… It is HEAVY. Using it one handed above your head or unsupported out in front of you will definitely put your arm into muscle failure at some point. It’s a powerful saw, so it’s an expected thing but be prepared. It tore through 2x8’s and 2x12’s just as fast as my corded skiksaw. Very impressive The sawdust extractor is a side eject, so if you’re cutting right to left at eye level then you’re going to get a face full of sawdust. Being that most people are right handed, it’s a shame that it doesn’t shoot the sawdust to the right, instead of left. Bottom line, stop looking and just buy this one. ... show more

  • So far so bad
Bought this couple months ago as other one died. Haven’t had to use it till today. Put in a fully charged 9 Amp battery. Ripped one piece of 3/4 inch plywood. Half way through the second piece of plywood it suddenly died. Took out battery and no lights showed on it. Smelled funny. Not sure if the saw killed the battery or not. Battery is almost two years old but worked fine on the sawzall few weeks ago when I used it last. Other batteries that I’ve had for 5 years still work great. That was the end of the work day. Charging a 3 Amp battery for tomorrow and will see what that does. That 9 Amp battery could rip about sixteen 3/4 inch boards easy on the old saw. Will update this review tomorrow but so far I am not impressed. Quite disappointed actually So the 3 Amp had a pretty bad performance. I had used 3 Amp batteries for the previous Milwaukee saw for 3 years before getting the 9 Amp battery...which definitely raised its power and efficiency dramatically. However the 3 Amp had been ok, although it wouldn’t last all that long. This saw can barely cut with the 3 Amp and runs out of juice after barely any use. I have a 12 Amp battery on the way to replace the 9 and will see how that goes. A Milwaukee sawzall I bought few months ago, replacing another Milwaukee tool that died, is awesome so far and the 9 Amp battery had it ripping through things like nothing. Verdict on this saw so far is still ‘“I wish I had gotten the cheaper version”....one that worked. Will update when the 12 Amp comes in. 12 Amp battery came in. Saw works pretty good now in comparison to how it did before. At least for the 3 or 4 cuts I made through the 3/4 inch plywood. The new design must not handle 3 Amp batteries like the older version, and curious whether it was the fault of the 9 amp battery I first used or the saw that caused that battery to fail. Have upped the rating from a 1 to a 4 star. Will update as time progresses. Update: Have now gone through one full charge of the 12 Amp battery with this saw. It works as good and lasts as long as the much cheaper version I had before for almost 5 years (the warranty thing became too complicated and I ended up not doing anything about it) with the cheaper 9 Amp battery I had before. If I were to do it again at this point, I’d go for the cheaper version of this saw. I do like the 2X4 hanging hook on this saw but not worth the huge prove difference for what I use it for. If anything, special pops out at me in the future I will update but at this point, this saw gets 4 stars from me and no more. ... show more
