This product is DeWALT’s latest version of their Jig Saw tool (DeWALT Model Number DCS334B). This is one of DeWALT’s line of 20V MAX tools and is designed to run on the DeWALT 20V MAX line of batteries. This tool is sold as a “Bare Tool” which means that the tool comes alone in a box without a battery, battery charger, or other optional accessories. This tool utilizes a brushless motor to power the tool’s saw blade. The brushless motor is designed to be more efficient, to generate less heat, and to produce more power for the same energy input compared with legacy brushed motors. This tool has a variable speed trigger and a rotary speed adjustment dial. The rotary dial is used for setting the maximum speed of the tool’s motor, and therefore the stroke rate of the saw’s blade. The variable speed trigger controls the speed of the tool’s motor from the motor’s start to the maximum speed set with the rotary dial. The tool is capable of a maximum of 3,200 blade strokes per minute (SPM). The tool has a bright LED lamp placed on the front of the tool to illuminate the tool’s immediate work area. The tool also has an integrated dust blower that will clear the line of sight for the tool while using the saw. The main body of the tool is designed with a “D”-shaped operator control handle with the variable speed trigger placed in the conventional location for activation with the user’s index finger. A trigger lock is placed next to the trigger for convenient access by the user. The rotary speed adjustment dial is placed above the variable speed trigger. The “D”-shaped operator control handle has an elastomer over-molded surface to provide the operator a positive purchase upon the tool for superior grip and control of the tool in use. The front of the tool also has an over-molded surface to provide the user with another surface to use to control the tool if extra control is deemed necessary. The tool may be used with either the user’s right or left hand equally well. Overall, the tool is relatively compact for such a powerful tool but the tool is designed so that the user can still maintain maximum control at all times. This tool employs an all-metal, lever-action, keyless blade change system. This system allows for quick and easy changes of the “T”-shank type jig saw blades used by the tool. The tool utilizes an orbital blade action system for controlling the motion of the blade’s cutting motion. Four (4) progressive cutting patterns are avail to the user. The motions progress from a simple vertical reciprocating motion to three increasingly progressive orbital-type motions for more aggressive cutting actions. This saw has an all-metal base shoe, with a removeable non-marring shoe cover to help protect work surfaces from scratches. The easily adjustable keyless, lever-controlled shoe has a bevel adjustment with detents placed at 0°, 15°, 30°, and with a positive stop at 45° available in both the left and right directions. I really like this tool and have waited for a long time to actually purchase one. I particularly like that this tool may be set-up, adjusted, and operated without the need for any additional tools. No Allen Keys, screwdrivers, or wrenches are needed to set-up, adjust, or actually use this tool. Also, this tool may be used with any of the DeWALT 20V MAX batteries. That said, it seems to me that the larger batteries may not be as useful with this tool as the smaller batteries will be. The smaller DeWALT batteries are lighter, and obviously smaller, making the tool just that much easier to use, most particularly in tight working conditions. I think that the new, just released, DeWALT 4.0Ah PowerPack batteries (DeWALT Model Number DCB2104) will be absolute perfection for use with this tool. Now I just need to get my hands on a pair of those new technology batteries. I had wanted this tool for quite some time and when Amazon finally placed it on sale, I jumped at the opportunity. Now I am looking for the perfect case for organizing, storing, and transporting the tool, my chosen batteries, and a few needed accessories, such as blades, to complete my acquisition. I am so glad that I no longer will need to deal with power cords, extension cords, and all of the various little tools required for installing the blades and adjusting the saw’s base like with my old corded jig saw. Thank you DeWALT for creating a great tool.

Fantastic tool that gets it done without breaking a sweat. Easy blade swap, all the adjustments, easy to control and tough. Battery lasts very long time and has tons of power. Super value for the money. I've lent this out twice now and both guys raved about how much they like this tool!! Don't buy the Dewalt blades though, there are better blades on the market for same or less $ IMO. I have to cut quite a few round holes in connex sea containers and this thing makes it fun and easy. Sorry I didn't have this thing years ago. Yeah, and the light is great to have as well. It's a bit heavier than my corded jig saws but boy does it get the work done. 5 star plus

I just received my Dewalt DS 334B 20 volt Jigsaw and right out of the box I am Highly Impressed! The saw is Well Made and Robust! It runs like a champ with very little Vibration. I have already put it through a few tests cuts from Oak 2 X 4’s to 1/8” thick Baltic Birch Plywood and was extremely satisfied by the quality of the cuts and how easy it was to control even on 45 degree cuts while scrolling! I am not new to a Jigsaw, my first saw was purchased by my wife as a Christmas Gift 54 years ago and it still works, but it is slow, cheaply made and hard to get quality cuts. I am a dyed in the wool Dewalt Tool user and a dedicated woodworker, so this little saw is going to get a good workout. The only thing that I would recommend when buying this tool is to Buy A Set of Diablo Jigsaw Blades because the Dewalt brand blades are not as good as the Diablo brand. Also, if this is your first Jigsaw, be warned that this saw is a bit Heavy, but it fits perfectly in your hands! The controls are very straight forward, well within reach, very Positive and can be used with either hand. That makes this saw Very Ambidextrous! I wish I could give it more than 5 Stars because it deserves a higher rating! First time Buyers Make Sure That You Read The Product Specifications and Be Aware That The Saw Doesn’t Come With A Battery And Charger! This Is A Bare Tool Only! You Will Need To Buy One That Is In A Kit so that You Will Have A Battery And Charger!

I've needed a jig saw for quite some time, and this one fit the bill perfectly. Easy to use, the quality is what you would expect from Dewalt, which is outstanding, and changing blades and speed is so easy. With variable speed settings and cut settings, along with a hefty shoe plate on it, it's one of the best I've had in a long time. I purchased spare batteries to go with this and my other Dewalt tools. This is a must buy if you're in the market for a big saw. I can't recommend it enough.

Great tool. I'm a DeWalt fan anyway. It fits my hand well, easy to maneuver, smooth operation, ease of operation at variable speeds. Came with a splinter guard and a blade! Now, the down side... The instruction manual was terrible. It was fairly unreadable bc the ink was so light. I will contact DeWalt about this issue and am certain they will send me a readable copy as I purchased a tool through Amazon that did not work properly. I contacted DeWalt for the part to fix it bc I knew was rebuildable. They fixed me up with an overnight shipment.

Just received my new jigsaw and was surprised by how it arrived. The saw itself was just in a plastic bag inside an Amazon box. There was no Dewalt box, no blade, no plastic cutting guide, no user's guide. After looking through the reviews I noticed that I was not the only customer who had this experience, although I may be in the minority. The saw itself looks brand new and does seem to work when I attach a battery (it does not include a battery, but that is clearly stated in the description). I can't tell you how well it cuts because, as I said, no blade. Still, it looks like and feels like a quality saw -- just wish I could use it. Just know before you buy that you might not get what you expect.

This is probably the best jigsaw that I have ever used. Buy some quality blades and enjoy the features. Cut everything from plexiglass to all different kinds of wood and metal.
