First off: I'm never let down by milwaukee stuff. (even though its parent company is owned by "whoever"). If you have M18 batteries already, this saw is great. If you do not any cordless stuff, Just buy a corded version. most of us are usually around a source of electricity anyways. I have been using corded Bosch Jigsaws since 1996. I still have my original one, still works. So when I got this milwaukee, and it being battery powered, I was skeptical. This thing is a monster.. its more accurate than I thought it would be. Its more powerful than I thought.. Now I haven't went and tried to cut 2" thick wood yet, but I'm sure it "wood" (would).. ... show more

Can't go wrong with any of their M18 line. Interchangeable batteries ! Quality tools, and really backed up by the company. I came up in the trades, retired Union Carpenter. I'm a hobbyist these days but know guys who WAIL on these tools and can depend on them every day.

Plenty of power for cutting the lumber I used for a equipment shed (2x8, 2x6, 2x4, plywood, etc.). Not as noisy as my electric jig saw and a LOT more handy. The blade locks in place as it should. The battery life meets my requirement (I don't cut wood for a living, but I can't imagine many people use a jig saw for more than 2 -4 hours running). Great tool for my needs. ... show more

One of the few Milwaukee tools I haven't really loved. It works fine but the blade position is in an odd place. It is buried pretty for back and makes it hard to see the line. I am used to using a Bosch 1587AVS, and the difference in visibility is the big draw back.

Hands down the best jigsaw I spent money on! Weighs just a bit less that my old corded dewalt. Battery life on it is a bit of a hit or miss using 5.0 batteries mainly because all mine are over 8 years old but as for a 6.0 high output it lasts over 3 hours of constant use. Plus this was $80 cheaper than what Home Depot was selling it for and with the same Milwaukee quality! It handles very nice with different angles to cut at. ... show more
