I hooked this up in a long bed Ford F-150 pickup. It looks nice sitting on top of the dash and all functions work well. The graphics are sharp and the screen seems to be adequately bright. There we're only a couple of issues, 1) if you want to clean permanent looking installation, you will have to buy a cigarette lighter socket that you can hide under the dash and hook it into the fuse box. Otherwise you will have an ugly wire hanging over the front of your dash plugged into your power port. 2) Second issue, the video camera wire was about 10 ft too short, and I had to buy an extension for that. It's a 2.5 mm, yes 2.5 mm AV plug with three rings. Can't buy that at most stores, had to have Amazon send that the next day. Both front rear camera qualities seem to be acceptable and it's nice that it comes with an extra sticky pad in case you want to mount it someplace else. I use the FM transmitter, and I find it works well, connects fast and is clear. 1 month update: still loving this thing! So happy I connected it directly to key-on power source. Can't imagine how stupid it would look with a cig light wire. 😂 ... show more

Okay so it didn't work with my older android phone but that's okay I had to get a new one anyway. The picture is really clear and you can see licence plates. I do like that it comes with a sd card and you can stick it to your dash. Definitely worth the money. The sound through the speakers is on point. Easy to install as well. Cons are the wires but I can deal and I don't know if it's Google maps but it does not talk to you. ... show more

The unit is a decent option for those who don't want to spend the time and money replacing a car's built-in radio. Wireless Android Auto is a great addition. The dash cam is a feature I didn't know I wanted. With that said, the display quality leaves a lot of room for improvement. The resolution is fine, but the brightness is simply not high enough when you're driving during the day — a problem made worse by a reflective screen as opposed to a matte display that would reduce reflections. Stack on the fact that the text and icon scaling when connected to Android Auto is too small, it oftentimes makes me want to just pull out my phone. I'm 21 years old — it's not a vision problem. In addition, if your car doesn't cut the power to the cig lighter (as most American cars don't), it will remain on perpetually. Most cars do, however, kill the power to the 120v outlet often found in the middle row. If they included a standard 2-prong power adapter, this would solve the problem. As it is now, I have to power off the device before leaving the car. The software works. It's slightly sluggish at times, but certainly usable. If you're mostly a night-time driver, I'd say pick this up. If you mostly drive during the day, be a little weary. ... show more

I purchased this 10” CarPlay screen anticipating to use it during a 12hr road trip. Halfway into the trip, the decision was made to return this item. Cons: 1. Doesn’t connect very well to BT or WiFi. Several attempts were made to connect to the screen even after the screen was already linked to CarPlay. 2. Once the screen connected with your iPhone, it wasn’t long before the screen independently disconnected and shutdown. 3. The screen is not user friendly and lacks clear concise instruction or trouble shooting screens. 4. The RoadCam software lacks professional development and requires more planning for functional use. Additionally, some tabs are written in another language-no option to select your desired language. 5. Mirror cast never linked…ugh. Pro 1. Takes good quality pictures and provides decent video images. Very disappointed, not user friendly for this home-camera-stalling, tech-savy-mom. Save your money. ... show more

I have been using this Carlpay for a week. It recently randomly shuts and and starts reboot automatically. I may have to return it. Do not know if it is a bad unit or this product has issues with its design.
