I love this thing. I recently spent twice as much on a different one, and had to return it. I'm so much happier. It's lightweight, easy to set up, seems like it's made of good aluminum, looks professional... my only problem is that it doesn't have a lower cross bar so it doesn't feel as stable as I'd like. But it does the job and I'm really happy with it.

I got this to try to hang a vinyl sign behind my acoustic band when we play. It just arrived and I set it up (see picture). It looks like it will suffice for what I want, but it is very flimsy and low quality metal that probably won’t last long. The locking pieces seem like they will strip out pretty easily over time. I will use it until it breaks, but you can decide for yourself. Also, because of the light weight, I can see it easily wanting to fall over with any slight wind (even with the bags tied to it that were included).

Do not buy these unless you are using them on Short. Small backdrops. That are lightweight. These polls are so small around and very unstable and completely useless. If you’re doing a larger backdrop or anything heavy or medium heavy. I’m returning mine because they would not hold up a lightweight backdrop, and the extended height that I wanted without falling over. Even if I were to use sand in the sandbags, which came without sand. by the way, which I didn’t know they would come without sand, but anyways, even if I used sand, the polls are super flimsy and small. They’re so small around that. It’s dangerous to extend them to full height if you wanted to go up to about 6 feet maximum at a lightweight product. You might be all right, but the poles are just too small around. They’re not sturdy. They’re not heavy duty. These are lightweight polls. So if you want good polls, go to something like a britek light pole and you can use those for backdrop stands. That’s what I’m going back to. I forgot I had some because I hadn’t done my photography business for about 10 years. I had closed down for various reasons, and when I started to reopen and had an event where I needed to do a big backdrop. I ordered these for forgetting that I already had a set of.briteks and. So since I had purchased these, I decided to use these instead without looking at them first, and the backdrop kept falling over And. It was a very big ordeal and I needed it to be at least 8 feet tall and it wasn’t doing well extended to that height, and I had a very lightweight backdrop on it and it was still a disaster, so I package did all back up right after the event. If it wasn’t for somebody hooking chains around the polls to this other backdrop to help me out. I would have lost everything multiple times, so I’m just saying, don’t use these. If you’re trying to extend them tall. They’re only made to use for smaller things. I don’t care if it says 9 feet. Trust me. You can’t go to 9 feet safely. They’re too small around. They’re not heavy duty polls. I’m returning mine. Good luck.
