  • For the money, it's good.
First, the negative. The critics are right about the battery on this machine. It fades fast. However, for a person like me, this isn't a big issue. I'm not going to be using this for eight hours at a stretch. On the positive side, there is lots to say. It cost me $56. Fifty-six! And it works. The screen looks great (to me), it's reasonably responsive, and it does what an Android tablet is supposed to do. Google Maps is there if I need it. YouTube is there. All the Google apps that I need. With a seven-dollar HDMI video capture card, and an app from the Play Store, I can even use it as a monitor for my Raspberry Pi. Conclusion: It's not the greatest tablet in the world, but right now I'm glad I got it. ... show more

  • A good entry level tablet at an affordable price point
For this review, I won't talk about how it compares to an Apple iPad or about the Android software vs. iOS. Why? Well, because this costs about a 1/4 of what the cheapest current model iPad costs and that means that compromises have to be made on the hardware to sell it at the price point of under $80. Also, there enough articles and fanboy information on one operating system versus the other. All I will say is that if you are used to iOS and this is your first time using Android, it will take some time to get used to navigating the tablet and setting up/changing settings. It's like being used to a Toyota and getting into a Ford - many of the controls operate slightly differently and located in different places. Okay with that stuff out of the way, this tablet is in the entry level price range and it performs in that range as well. I will clarify my use for this tablet first as I am not using it as my main device. I wanted this mainly to use on my treadmill or rower to watch videos or stream music while working out. That's it. Considering the hardware, booting up took a while. So if you turn off your tablet often, be prepared to patiently wait for it to power up. Launching apps was quick enough but did have noticeable lag if you are used to using a higher price/performing tablet. Also the screen doesn't seem to be as accurate to touch as other tablets too. I would touch an icon and then, when it didn't do anything, touch it again with a firmer and more deliberate press. This can get annoying and make you jab more at the screen. When it came to streaming movies, it did take a second or two to buffer before playing, but once started, it was able to keep up with processing and I haven't received the buffering icon during a video. Other apps like email, calendar, etc. run quicker - probably due to requiring less resources. My review may seem negative, but it shouldn't be taken that way. You get what you pay for and at the price point, this tablet performs well enough. You can't expect it to perform like a current gen iPad at this price. I've tried to lay out some of the main issues so you can decide if this tablet is right for you or if you should spend more money for one with better specs. To me if you are just using it for basic functions, then this is probably going to serve you well while not spending a lot of money. With that in mind, a cold boot of the tablet does take a while, so be patient if you normally turn off your tablet. ... show more

  • Inexpensive but sooooo slooooow
We got this to use as a controller for some "Smart home" features in a rental house. Basically an inexpensive tablet we could use to create a guest account with access to the Android apps we needed, and leave for the renters to use. This fit the bill. It's a recent Android version, with a relatively large screen, and cost less than $80 delivered. But the screen, for it's size, is pretty low resolution and the response times are painfully slow. Touch performance is dicey, and slow to respond, and everything from the buttons to the sound quality remind you that you've purchased a super low-end tablet. Battery life is . . . poor. We're talking dropping 10% in the time it took me to get it connected to the WiFi, installing a single app, and getting that app connected to the smart device it was purchased to control. I'd expect a run time of maybe two hours, just screen on, no real compute involved. If you want a super cheap Android tablet that does actually do the job (we'd originally gotten an Amazon Fire tablet, but the work needed to install "normal" android apps from the Play store made it not worth the time) this isn't a bad option. Just don't expect decent performance. ... show more

  • Good tablet for the price.
First the good: GREAT battery life, good picture quality, and good price; now the bad: this tablet can be a little clunky, plus moving the apps that I want to the front screen is nearly impossible. Once the tablet is restarted, the apps I placed on the front screen have returned to their former places. ... show more

  • Ok tablet
It does its function. I notice if I customize the homescreen it will reset itself everytime I power the tablet off and on.

  • Slightly lower quality than I expected.
I know this is a low cost tablet, but the quality still feels a little too low. It's slow to respond, but if you turn on Do Not Disturb, that'll help a lot. My big issue is really the screen itself. The screen scratches so easily that after swiping through some pages while using it to read, I ended up with clear scratches running across the screen after just a couple days. Then after being super careful for days, I slid it into my tablet slot in my backpack, and when I took it out it was COVERED in scuffs and scratches. I'll likely be upgrading to something with a better screen quality, and if you primarily use your tablet to read I'd recommend you do the same. ... show more
