Description

Daikon RadishPress to translate Listing Translator by Hindi Portuguese Thai Korean French Chinese Spanish Arabic Japanese German Russian Italian 'Prolific' Kiwi, is a self-pollinating variety that is early ripening and produces abundant crops of medium to large, sweet and tasty fruit. The cultivar is sometimes used as a pollinator for other female cultivars. Fruits are flavorful with reddish/violet on the skin and flesh when ripe. Minimum chilling requirements 300 hours. These Kiwi have smooth skinned fruits so there is no need to peel the skin of the fruits unlike the fuzzy fruit species Actinidia deliciosa. Fruits vary in size, and are similar to several varieties of grapes. Plant stems and fruit buds are more cold tolerant than the A. deliciosa species and are mainly grown in colder areas where the cold temperatures can range from 10ºF to -18ºF. Fruit flavors are of course different with every cultivar, similar to all fruits. The Hardy Kiwi is THE FRUIT OF THE FUTURE! Can bear fruit the first year after planting. It produces smooth-skinned fruit the size of large grapes in late summer to early fall, great for fresh eating, salads, dessert or jelly. Kiwi plants are attractive growers that require a sunny location, preferably with wind protection. They can be grown in different types of soils however, the soil must be well drained. Kiwi plants are very pretty when used to cover a wall or fence or used in landscape design. The fruit's use in recipes is endless. Feedback From Buyer Date/time A++ Seller highly recommended. • Spoiler Alert...Ultimately It Dies
The plant shipped from the seller quickly and arrived in 6 days after I ordered in a small box. The plant was completely dried out. There was a woody 4 inch stick/stem with about two inches of pale green, turgid, new growth. I allowed the peat moss to rehydrate and waited a few days before planting it in the ground when night time temperatures were consistently above 45/50, about beginning of May, Zone 7b. Removing the plant from its container revealed a thick mass of brown roots. After being planted, the plant seemed to be doing ok for a couple of weeks and even started to grow, about double in length with a few new leaves. Then the plant started to wilt in spite of having enough water and eventually just died. I kind of pegged the "1 Ft. Bag" claim as being a bit odd, probably misleading, and wasn't surprised when I received a small plant in a bag that was well under 1 foot. I had bought a similar kiwi variety from a fairly well know online nursery last year that died and when they didn't honor their guarantee I figured I would give this a shot, esp. since it was half the price. Not sorry I bought the plant and figured it was a 50/50 shot at best. ... show more

  • No good
It arrived dried out and dead. It has been planted for 2 weeks and there is no sign of life. The stem is not green and flexible, but dry and would break if bent. and it did not come in 1 ft bag, just a tag about 4" long. Not happy with seller at all.

  • Would not purchase again.
This plant arrived dried and unviable. However, tried to save it but it just crumbled into nothing. Shipping packaging was good but only a 4" cube and plant was simply wrapped in some sort of plastic wrap but not sealed and arrived dried out. Plant was less than 1/2 inch with no leafing. Very disappointed. ... show more
