I needed a good reliable mount to hold my insta360 onto my head while snowmobiling in the back country. Because the snow is deep, if the camera falls off it can very easily be gone forever. For that reason I did my research and determined I could trust this product the most out of all others. The metal design is rigid, and it has a very nice tightening knob which allows easy use for a tightening wrench. For a pro tip, I found the mount to be rather slick and easy to move when connected to a gopro plastic mount. The fix I implemented was just lightly scuffing the two metal prongs with sand paper, and voila!

First the good: - Product seemed solid -1/4" attachment for a typical tripod mount worked well The Bad: - secondary set screws would not engage the central core/rod to prevent the 1/4 set screw from counter-rotating. This could leade to the camera coming off in a highspeed / or intense use - Have to provide your own alan wrench to tighten the secondary set screw. At this price (despite stating it in small print on one of the pictures) it should come with at least 1. Not that it mattered as the set screws don't work. Ultimately if you are just using it stationary or small/slightly action shots it may meet your needs. Parasailing, parachuting, vehicle appplications... i wouldnt use it.

well made, metal, looks good. fits in most applications perfectly. and able to adjust the depth of the screw somewhat. There was too much screw sticking up for my thermal monocular scope so i took the screw out with 2 small Allen wrench locks and used a grinder to shorten it. Works really well for my application. Keep in mind the orientation of the wide base to the go pro mount. I would benefit more from a 90 deg turn. that would allow up and down positioning from the go pro section instead of side to side.

I recently bought the Movo DiveRig2 XL Diving Rig for a trip to Hawaii. It is very nice, except the shoe mount is plastic and broke the first time I tightened it. So I ordered the MINIFOCUS Hot Shoe to GoPro Mount Adapter. It worked so well, I ordered a second one to mount 2 lights on the rig. Very happy with the setup now!
