Description

ZWILLING Pro is the most user-friendly knife available to market. The unique blade shape and ergonomic bolster are the result of years of experience in knife making, and the rigorous study of how knives are used. A unique curved bolster supports the professional pinch grip, with thumb and index finger on the blade, for safe cutting and less fatigue. The Chef's Knife blade was redesigned with a broader curve in the front to facilitate the rocking motion of Western cutting, while the straight back is ideal for the Asian chopping motion. From the moment I unboxed it, the quality was evident — the blades are sharp, perfectly balanced, and feel substantial in the hand. The forged design, premium steel and the curved bolster make the knives a joy to use. The acacia block looks stunning on the counter and holds each piece securely. The set covers all the essentials — chef’s knife, santoku, bread knife, steak knives, paring knives and more — so I feel like I’m truly equipped for every cutting job. For someone who values high-quality tools (and yes, I’m a professional technician in another field, so I recognize when something is built well), this set hits the mark. What I love most: The sharpness and edge retention — after everyday use, they continue to perform like new. The balance and handle comfort — the bolster allows a confident grip. The overall design — looks premium, not just functional. The block itself — the acacia wood gives a warm, elegant look, and it’s well-constructed. If I were to mention anything minor: I do recommend hand-washing and drying the wooden block (and the knives) properly, to keep everything in top shape. I have had this set for about 2 months now and Love the set! The knives came in sharp, and with a great looking finish. Each knife is very sharp, and holds an edge is great! I definitely do not regret getting this set!

Included knives are wonderful! They're sharp and feel great in your hand The set is "16 piece" but the wood block itself is counted as one piece. You do _not_ receive enough blades to fill all the slots. The online images cleverly hide the empty slot in the top right corner. That's where a 10" Chef's knife fits very well. Obviously you'll want another Zwilling Pro series blade and that's another $190. (Bought it separately since it's arguably the most important piece.) The included Chinese scissors are just "meh". We had set of heavy shears made in the USA so I swapped them out. Would have been 5 stars otherwise, the knives are heirloom quality. Just make sure you don't pay MSRP. ... show more

These are the workhorse blades in my kitchen. The chef's knife in this set is my goto for most everything. You get what you pay for. Sharpness, ergonomics, and edge retention are key elements of quality cutlery and this set is the best value for your money IMHO.

The product that I received was horrible. The block that holds the knives was all scratched and it looked like it had been used. The knives and the block were just thrown in the box, so the knives weren't even protected. This was such a disappointment, I returned it right away and I'm waiting for my refund. This isn't even worth a star, and I just hope no one else orders these. ... show more

I am never too sure about the actual color of products I see online, however the Acacia color was quite close to the image I saw on Amazon and Zwilling websites and I am happy I chose that color for the knife block. I chose the more modern "Pro" set over the traditional full bolster set because of issues I've had in the past with sharpening the full length of the edge. I am glad I chose the Pro for this reason, the handle/grip is basically the same as the old (International) chefs knife I've used for years, in fact since the block had one extra empty slot I used that slot for my old knife and it fits fairly well. I also purchased a sharpener and touched up my old knife and now it's razor sharp too! The only thing I would recommend is that Zwilling package these knives in stronger sleeves and padding, these knives are razor sharp and do cut through the protective sleeves and cardboard they used to package them. None were chipped, marred or dull from shipping however it could happen since a few were completely out of their sleeves and touching. I would certainly recommend Zwilling knives, and Amazon delivered my set in just a couple days. This is a good purchase. ... show more

The product is great! My problem is when shipped it only came with the block and 9 knives. The 6 steak knives were missing. I contacted the seller and have had no resolution after 18 days. I'm frustrated.

Wow! I've always bought nice knife sets in the past (intermediate), but, never in the top tier like these knives. Boy, talk about attention to detail. These knives are perfect. What an absolute joy they are to use. Maybe it's crazy for an amateur like me to spend this much on a knife set, but, I'm sure glad I did. So, I guess maybe this review is more for other amateurs thinking about making the plunge? Go for it! You'll be glad you did. Oh, also, I understand the complaints about the storage block. I think they tried to cram as much as they could into the smallest footprint. However, they have other storage blocks you can purchase. I'm thinking about doing just this. ... show more
