Our daughter & son in law have their hands full with 4 small children, 2 cats & a dog. They’re hard on their house & its contents. We bought them a Zwilling Henckels 5 Star set 10 years ago. They’ve had lots of love & needed replacing. Purchased this Zwilling Henckels Gourmet set and could not be happier. The knives are well crafted, supremely sharp and look like they will withstand the tests of time in our kids household. Overall a great value for the money. A few $$ more than sets at big box stores but so worth it.

I was given a Henckels’ knife set at my wedding, 30 years ago and we liked it very much. After 30 years, none of the knives shows much damage and the block still looks very nice. When we decided to upgrade to a larger set, I turned to Henckels. But thanks to Amazon reviews, I soon learned that Zwilling had bought Henckels, while at the same time, other companies were selling cheap and flimsy knife blocks and knives under the Henckels name. I learned to look for the twin men logo, instead of the single man on the old. My Zwilling set arrived and I love it! Same high quality as my old one; sharp, beautifully made; a pleasure to have in my kitchen!

I finally indulged in my first set of quality knives. Why the hell not? These are excellent with making precise and sharp cuts. Extremely sharp- so be very careful! Very nice hand feel and well balanced kitchen tool. Will probably last 100 years so I’ll give them to my kids one day.

I was looking for good kitchen knives at an affordable price that weren't made in China and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Henckels' Zwilling line is made in either Germany or Spain and are top quality. I also needed ones that were both lightweight and ergonomic due arthritis. These fit all those needs beautifully.

I have Henckels 4-star professional knives in my primary home that I've used for years, so when it cam time to outfit our second, vacation home I knew I wanted Henckels. This set doesn't have all the knives I'm used to using, but it's a great starter set. Henckels does not ship to Hawaii, so I carried the knives in my checked luggage to get them to my house where they were useful immediately as we set up the kitchen. Be very careful when using as they are extremely sharp. Keep after them quickly for cleaning and do not put them in the dishwasher, but wash by hand.

I love the knives! I have always tried to keep my knives sharp, but most either broke or became dull very quickly. Not so with these knives! I also have the zwilling knife sharpener which I highly recommend. It keeps the knives in tip top condition. Definitely worth the investment if you like to cook as much as I do.

We love this knife set fulfills its primary purpose to allow us to more easily cut things up. The blades on every one are incredibly sharp. We also love that it includes a very handy and effective knife sharpener. We are not huge fans of the knife block holder... While it is very solid wood that will probably last for our life times, we do not like how steeply angled it is - it's just a little scary since it's such easy access and we have young children - so we have to put it somewhere inconvenient for us in order to protect them. It also takes up a little too much countertop space by being so horizontally angled. Also, it's weird how there are so many additional slots for other knives. We'd rather be given the open to get a knife block that is built just to hold this set, or one that is bigger so that if we knew we'd grow the set over time we could fit them. We will not be growing the set because we do not need to, so it's kind of unpleasant looking having this large knife block with tons of empty slots. The other downside to these knives is that some are kind of awkward to hold while cutting and don't feel very comfortable while cutting. And, be aware - these are very, very sharp knives! Even if you gently graze your finger you will get cut. Overall, I'm pleased that it fulfilled the main purpose - knives that cut well. I think the price is a bit steep and the knife block could definitely either use improvements, or fit the actual set better and be more compact/vertical rather than horizontal and taking up so much space.
