I purchased this kitchen tool for cutting in butter or shortening into flour for making pie crusts or streusel topping. It does the job. It is sturdy and made well. It seems to a be a good value for the price. I think it could also be used to chop eggs or avocados; probably nuts. The one point I would like to mention is that I have small hands and the handle is just right for me. I'm not sure if it would make a difference for someone with larger hands to purchase a slightly larger handled one or not; just something to consider. The company followed up with a nice note that the item is guaranteed and if I had any problems, to contact them. This sort of customer service is always appreciated and nice to know the company stands behind their product.

This actually a very nicely made blender/cutter! It seems to be all one piece, not large/cumbersome (easy to control), should be easy to clean, smooth and flowing. Cutting butter into sugar etc. should be a breeze with this! I haven't used it yet, as I just got it, but I am well pleased with the product. The grip seems like it should be good, too; wet or dry. It is sturdy enough that you could probably mash potatoes with it! I don't think cold butter would be a problem, either.

Solid Dough Blender

This Dough Blender has a solid build quality. The tines appear to be strong and will not be prone to breakage like I read about other brands. It cuts into cold butter and shortening and blends beautifully. It performs more dependably than a food processor which tend to over-blend and cause havoc. Though I only used it once so far, I can see using it whenever there is a need for making pie crusts for many years to come. My only complaint is that the handle is a bit narrow. I read about this before ordering, but I gave the build quality and performance more weight than this minor annoyance.

Great for more than pastries

In addition to its intended use, this dough blender is a handy gadget for making guacamole, mashing a few potatoes, making egg salad, and shredding chicken. It made short work of shredding a chicken breast for enchiladas, compared to the traditional method of using two forks. Plus, the chicken was more finely and unformly shredded. I am still experimenting with alternate uses. (The onion dicing experiment was a bust, but I think it will do nicely with chopping up steamed broccoli.) The item that arrived was exactly as described and shown in the pictures, with no rough spots or dull spots. The metal is thick, sturdy, and securely attached to the handle. The handle is not very wide, so this item may be too small for many people.

A great tool for your pastry dough

This tool goes by various names, but I like to call it Baker’s knuckles. As I’m improving, my baking, I’m doing more and more with pastry. Much as I love my food processor, I still take delight in making a piecrust by hand. The ties on this are particularly firm and make it very pleasant to work with. Highly recommended and it’s an excellent price.
