  • pretty good!!
hello!! heres a review going over some things people looking for a budget gaming rig may wanna hear. im a teenager with very little knowledge on specs and all that, so this is from a very simplified perspective. DOES IT GAME WELL? : in my opinion, yes! ive played games like apex legends and fortnite comfortably! EASY TO INSTALL? : sort of. if you don’t have a SFF computer, yes! if you do have a SFF computer like me, then it’s not as easy, but doable!! you have to replace the little backplate thingy with a smaller one (which was included, for me at least! i bought a used one). all i needed was a small screwdriver and one of those nut magnet things i dont even know what its called my dad just gave it to me WORTH IT? : hell yes. i upgraded an old office pc i bought off of amazon with this graphics card alone and im playing games that wouldve normally made my pc explode lol thanks for reading!! again, im just a teenager building an insanely budget gaming pc (this is my main one, too. im not using any other pcs) ... show more

  • Good entry level card
Really good card for the money. It should be obvious that you're not going to be gaming with this card in 4k or playing the newest AAA titles at 60 fps with max setting, but it gets the job done for many other games. It plays games like rocket league and paladins at 60fps easily if you lower the setting a little bit, and fortnite more closely to 45 fps. My numbers may not be too accurate mostly due to the GPU being bottlenecked by my old core 2 duo e8400. With a faster processor it should push even higher. Lastly if you're looking to set up a home theater PC then this is a fantastic option. It will easily play 4k video and fits nicely in a low profile pc. Does not require addition power from the PSU, it runs comfortably and quietly straight from the pcie x16 slot. ... show more

  • Quiet Fan - Works Great With Linux
I didn't know what to expect from this card. I've had video cards with fans that were quite noisy, this one is very quiet. I use Linux Mint and have had a GT 1030 in my main computer for 2-3 years, and just replaced a GT 710 with this card a few days ago. The 710 had a nasty habit of 'blinking' text as I scroll down the page. This card 'blinks' but only slightly, I can continue to read text while scrolling with it. Nvidia has wonderful support for Linux users, unlike some other manufacturers. Installing an Nvidia powered card is no problem for Linux users. I don't use my system for gaming, mostly internet videos and movies and the performance is good for audio as well as video. Nvidia. It just works! ... show more

  • Low Power Consumption
Great card for older sff machines due to its low 30w power draw which wont make you have to upgrade you power supply and smaller size that allows it to fit in about any machine that has a pcie slot, while still providing good performance in older games. Can run some of the newer titles on lower settings. Drivers for it start at Windows 7 and is compatible with all Windows operating systems after, including Windows 11. ... show more

  • Probably The Safest GPU for a 200W PSU
If you're considering this, most likely your case is similar to mine: You have a prebuilt PC with a proprietary 200W PSU which can't be easily upgraded, and any discrete GPU would be a big upgrade to the integrated graphics. Yes, this card should work, but I strongly recommend using a program like Open Hardware Monitor to confirm your system's power usage leaves enough wiggle room. In my case, the max power usage was around 120W so it could handle this card's 30W. That said, I still feel a bit nervous about cutting it close. Can you game on it? If you have modest standards, actually yes. It ran most games I tried at a stable 60 fps on 720p low settings, and even more demanding titles like Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade at a stable 30 fps (even though this card is technically beneath the minimum requirements). I'm pleasantly surprised that even Nintendo Switch emulation works on this card, depending on the game of course (Super Mario Odyssey was a mostly stable 60 fps, Fire Emblem: Three Houses was a mostly stable 30 fps, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was a mostly stable 60 fps except when it loaded new shaders). As for overclocking, +100 MHz core clock and +100 MHz memory clock with MSI Afterburner seemed to be safe and it could probably be pushed further, but I returned to default since I didn't want to take any unnecessary risks. Overall, this card's performance exceeded my expectations; however I feel it is overpriced. Looking at the price history, it fluctuates between $149.99 and $99.99 on Amazon (I got it at $99.99), and I would not recommend it when it's over $100. ... show more
