I needed this for a bedroom to hold a TV, consoles, and to store a few larger items that were too bulky for what little closet space I have. This shelf is large and the measurements almost perfectly fit into my available wall space Assembly was about 30 minutes -- I could have done it myself, but it was easier having someone to help align and hold the shelves as I dropped them in place Aligning the shelves is as simple as clamping down with a plastic piece and sliding the shelf over it. Gravity and weight will squeeze the shelf to the support, keeping it from moving once in place. I used a rubber mallet to very gently tap everything into place It works best if you have a small piece of wood to spread the weight over the entire shelf surface. You can hold something like a TV or computer monitor on the shelf, but it is most stable with something under it. I recommend securing this to the wall because the shelf is very tall and could possibly be tipped over by a child that mistakes this for a jungle gym I appreciate the sturdiness, the solid metal, and having the extra storage space. In context, my house is laid out so badly that I remain convinced the people who built it could not have lived here for extended periods of time -- little usable closet space, terrible tiny cabinets, and a floor plan that wastes every inch of space it can. Fast shipping, packaged well. All in great shape, no damage. Most damage is from Shipping and you CANNOT Knock the Seller for that. The Box had a few holes in it, that is usually when it is a heavier item like this was. Went together Actual size 48" O.D width. 20" deep Total shelves plus the 2 (Two) Outside posts that the Shelves ride on. The height 74" without Wheels. Wheels are nice, but really take away from weight bearing due to the cheap wheel bearings on the wheels. IF you want Motion and weight you would need to buy a set of wheels with heavy weight bearings on the axles. The axles are the weak link. This would do fine if you want wheels and had it loaded with Pots and Pans. I am using it for grain , flour, sugar and ball canned food, so it will have weight on it. I recommend this. I got the 6 shelf unit, did not put a shelf at the very bottom and use the Ground to set 5 gallon buckets of grain 40# weight giving me an extra shelf splitting a 12" space for baking pans hence no wheels needed in my case. ... show more
