  • AMD, I'm sorry, forgive me!
I started out years ago with Nvidia, but then went ATI (AMD) for many years, so I was really torn about what to replace my HD 7950 with - an RX 480 8Gb or this GTX 1060 6Gb card. Read a zillion reviews and none seemed definitive in one really being better than the other. It all came down to this card using less power, and in spite of the RX 480 looking better on paper, the tests seemed to show the GTX 1060 having an egde in real world use. Installation was simple - removed old driver, replaced HD 7950, started up, used CD to install software (during which the driver was automatically updated over Internet to latest version) and started playing. My games run on high or ultra for 1080p very nicely. Where it matters, the FPS is much, much better. 3D Mark scores were much better than the HD 7950, but in many ways, the HD 7950 is still a great GPU. I'll just have to convince myself that I made the right choice. I know I didn't make a bad choice by any means, but I'll say again this a really great GPU, very quiet, fantastic results, but I won't say it's better than the RX 480 8Gb. I think they're equal and it will come down to whether you are an AMD or Nvidia fan, or what type of monitor you have. But if you are a die hard AMD fan like me, it will just take a little time to get over feeling you are a traitor. I also bought the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 R5 and FX-8350 with Wraith Cooler. Unbeatable combination. ... show more

  • Great Card, Experience Your Games The way They were Meant to Be Played
Its been up to 5 years since I did any gaming on a desktop pc. I have been gaming on my laptop using my NVidia 960M., it was a decent card which allowed you to play at medium settings.I recently decided to build a gaming pc and I bought this card after seeing its good reviews. This card is amazing and it runs absolutely everything on high frames with 60+ and everything at ultra even up to 100 frames at 1080p.I have tested batman Arkham city, bioshock infinite, far cry 3, doom3 demo, metro last light,, borderlands series, everything runs smooth. This card is a must own if you have a small case and it runs really quiet. The price has gone through the roof right now and I managed to get it for 250 bucks. I wouldn't buy it for 300+ right now. I have to acknowledge AMD's role with this card because Nvidia would have never made a powerful mid-range card which competes with the high end GTX 980 if AMD didn't release the RX 480.I hope both companies continue to do well and it would appear so since both the RX 480 and GTX 1060 are sold out at the retailers. "Participating in ZOTAC Experience" Update :I noticed some stuttering problems in some games especially in ryse son of rome and assassin's Creed black flag with vsync off. I noticed games ran smoother with vsync on.I initially thought it was a CPU bottleneck or maybe the drivers were bad.i am using the latest Nvidia 372 drivers. In short ,to fix this problem all you need to do is set the power mode in the control panel to maximum performance instead of optimal or adaptive. This fix totally solved the problem and all the stuttering went away and I am gaming smoothly with vsync off. Great card ... show more

  • honestly still a great mid-high end graphics card
Style: GTX 1660 Ti Twin Fan
with the newer RTX cards coming out and the possible release of the RTX 30's i settled for this to hold me over till i could pick up one of the RTX cards. A very solid card, ZOTAC makes some nice cards that are quality and perform WAY above spec if you know how to overclock your card that is. the mini style of card they seem to make is very nice and should fit most case builds. The card stays low 30s for me when idle and when under load never reaches above 70 degrees Celsius. (this is due to custom fan curve through MSI After burner may be different stock). Overall great card, i use it on a 2560x1440p screen and i get 80+ FPS in games like planetside 2, Borderlands 2 and 3, and planetcoaster. Also this card can do VR all for a decent price, if your starting out or need a good card to hold you over for something better pick this card up!!!!! you wont regret it! ... show more

  • Great GPU, but No NVidia SLI
I used this GPU in my first PC build. 3 years of light use, no issues. It is incredibly compact and performs well. I've run games as simple as Runescape to as detailed as Doom 2016 and Tomb Raider on max settings with zero issues/lag. Never tried VR. Biggest issue (why it's 4 stars) is that this GPU does not support NVidia SLI, so you can't link it together with another NVidia GPU. If you want to upgrade your rig and still use the power of your current GPU, don't buy this. If you are looking to upgrade to a graphics card that will perform at max settings for the current model of freemium games or at medium-high AAA games for the next 2-3 years, this is a reasonable GPU. With how often I game nowadays, I definitely not worrying about upgrading anytime soon. Current Build: NZXT Source 530 Full Tower Computer Case, Intel i5 6600K, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler, ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini (6GB), Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2400 MHz DDR4 DRAM (2 x 8GB), EVGA 600 B1 (Bronze 600W), Seagate 2TB HHD + Samsung 256GB SSD (installed later), and DVD read/write player. ... show more
