- [1.0-HORSEPOWER MOTOR]: This winch features a 1.0-horsepower, 12-volt DC motor with 2,000 lbs of line pull. The permanent magnet motor offers the same line-pulling power and speed as a series-wound motor of comparable size, but it's lighter and uses less current. The motor is constructed of durable, corrosion-resistant materials including the powder coated housing, copper battery terminals, and zinc-plated steel hardware.
- [COMPLATE CONTROL SYSTEM]:The hand-held, plastic remote has a relay switch inside that transmits power from your vehicle's battery to the winch. The 4' lead connects the remote to your battery, and the 3' lead connects the remote to your winch. These leads can be switched if you need to operate the winch from a greater distance. The remote also has 2 knobs on the front that let you power the rope in and out.
- [AUTOMATIC, LOAD-HOLDING MECHANICAL BRAKE]: The automatic mechanical brake securely holds a load and prevents unintentional payout (or creep). A large spring coil contracts when the winch is in gear and the drum is winding in. When the winch stops, the load starts to pull and the spring expands to press against the spring chamber. The pressure of the spring on the wall of the spring chamber creates resistance to stop the drum from rotating outward.
- [SYNTHETIC ROPE]: The synthetic rope is made of 12-strand Dyneema SK75 fiber that is lightweight yet stronger than steel. This synthetic rope is safer to use than a steel rope because it generates less kinetic energy - and therefore less kickback - if a break occurs. It won't stretch - or creep - over time like steel rope can. And it's also less likely to fray and create sharp strands so it's easier to handle and easier to spool.

I wanted a small winch mounted on a plate that could be attached to a hitch receiver mount plate (found a nice small one here on Amazon that I reviewed also) for only very occasional use in the hitch mount adapters on the back of my tractors or four wheeler (which has a fixed mount front winch already). This looks like it will fit the bill perfectly. It is small as a 2000 lb. capacity winch would be expected to be. But it feels solid and robust, no light and flimsy. Initial operation seemed smooth and even. No undue heat buildup but I wasn't pulling a load, just unwinding and winding as I kept a little tension on the cable. The disengage/freewheel/reengage feature worked smoothly as well. I ordered mine with the synthetic rope cable for the 1 lb. lighter weight of the cable and the fairlead. While a seemingly small difference that will enhance the ability to transfer this from storage to one vehicle to another and back, especially if I have to carry it from the barn out to the vehicle somewhere on my property. I have no idea yet how durable this unit will be and given that it will be stored indoors and see use at most once or twice a year I will not be likely to determine durability anytime soon. My only real concern is the power/control wire leads seems a little small. For the current this could draw at the lower pull speeds I would be very concerned about heating up the leads if the pull lasted too long. Hopefully the engineers took that into account in this design? If I observe heating I will limit the duty cycle to allow cooler operation. Also I would have liked the leads to be longer on both sides of the pendant. I will probably make some heavier gauge extensions with clips on the battery end to enhance the portability I want. Note that my leads were 3' and 4' per the ad's images, not 4' and 6' per the text (which I still would have wanted a little longer!). The seller should clear up that confusion in the ad. This is the reason I gave four starts instead of five, but I'm certainly not too disappointed. I'm already considering getting another winch and adapter plate for a semi-permanent set up in my barn.

This was gotten to put on a trailer for loading/unloading a UTV when it happens to break down or needs help being loaded. This works, however it is on the lower side of pulling power IMO. For the money it works well; having the synthetic rope is a blessing so I don't have to worry about snapping or tearing up hands the same with fraying. I don't like the control personally however it fits in with most lower end winch setups I have seen, very functional. This would work on the weekend for small jobs but I don't know that I would rely on it to pull out a very stuck ATV without a snatch block or two. It does the job however at a fairly inexpensive price. Works great for a small trailer pulling on a UTV/ATV also.

I buy and restore antique Ford tractors, and most are found laying around in the back 40 of farms that are about to be turned into subdivisions. This winch helps tremendously when it comes time to load them onto the trailer. It works well, and she has earned her keep for me in these situations when you have no help around. I'm not a fan of the controller, but it's nothing that can't be worked around. I'd like to see a plug and play type controlled instead of my wires going off in two different directions.

I mounted this on my UTV that we use around a farm. I haven't gotten stuck yet, but I have tried out the winch in a few situations. I just put the UTV in neutral, extended the rope to a tree and let the winch pull me forward. There was no problem with he power of the winch motor to roll me right out. I ended up mounting this on the front middle of mine. The remote reaches easily and can store ink the dash storage box. The mounting plate is thick and strong and the necessary bolts were included.. I did have to drill one hole on the mounting area of the UTV, but that was no big deal. I like the rope instead of a chain or cable for weight and ease of use. My UTV is larger than the average 4-wheeler ATV and has a bed that is usually filled with tools (and junk) adding weight, and the motor worked great.

I can’t wait to install this on my ATV. I wanted something that used synthetic rope. This is a little more powerful than what I wanted but I could not turn it down. It comes with everything you need to get up and running. I really like the wireless remote. It has 50ft of synthetic rope and rope stop and shackle. You also get the waterproof hand held remote with a built-in relay. It is so much lighter than metal cable in a winch. The only reason this is not up and running is because I have an older ATV so I will have some welding to do before I can mount it. This is just the right size for my battery. I may run a second battery we will see. This is not an inexpensive winch for being 2000lb. It is pretty close to average or towards the upper end if you catch others on sale. It is nice that the relay in in the remote, that saves you some wiring. You can find similar winches for less. Check the features and make your own decision. For what they advertise I believe they have hit the mark. For that reason, I am giving them 5 stars. If I find out anything different after I install it, I will update this review.

Mounted this on my car trailer with its own battery on a solar charger so it always is ready to work. Rated for 2k lbs. Perfect for pulling a dead vehicle up on a trailer. Highly recommend for this purpose nice and cheap.
