  • Good product
Works great but beware that if you only want a small amount cut the blocks in half. I made a huge amount just to find out my beardy doesn't like it

  • Good substrate for turtles
Got this for our 3 toed box turtles habitat. She loves to burrow in it and I love that it’s not dusty and messy when I go to change her water or get her out. It retains moisture really well and water can even be added later to re-moisturize it. After it starts drying out, you’ll notice the dirt level slowly receding, and I’ll just add a couple large cups of water and fluff it with a plastic toy rake. Price is a little high for what it is. We were using dirt before and it just wasn’t a good fit for us. So far, this has been great. The turtle loves it and it makes maintenance and cleaning much easier! Still working to perfect her habitat but really happy with the current setup. ... show more

  • Perfect!
Perfect for our Gecko’s Tank. It makes it smell fresh and natural, we have extra after filling our tank, so much for a good price!
Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2026 by I bought these for cupcakes that I made for my grad party and they ended up so cute! They did get a little stained from the frosting but it didn’t bother me any!

  • Good quality substrate
Great substrate for all kinds of critters but doesn’t retain moisture easily and dries out quickly. Smells good and a very large bag for price that should last you a while.

  • Just what we needed for our gecko enclosure
The gold standard for reptile substrate. It expands quickly once soaked and holds humidity perfectly. Buying the 3-pack is the most cost-effective way to keep my enclosures fresh. Seriously expensive if you go any other way. Very consistent medium, smells fresh, and easy to set up.

  • I mean, it's dirt.
It's great dirt.

  • Will buy again
Massive tank and 1 of these packs does the job! 1 pack has 3 bricks inside, they expand to an impressive amount, very little odor if any produced, more of like an earthy smell which in my opinion is to be expected. I might be concerned if there was a lack of it. Buying this quantity elsewhere would definitely run you 5x more money. Holds moisture well, very important for maintaining humidity. Great value for the money. ... show more

  • Works as expected
Just as expected, the same you buy from petco or petsmart. Workes well. I used it for different reptile enclosures. Only a slight smell when you're mixing it in water.
