Description

Adapters for connecting hose to NPT female or male threaded pipes of different diameters. We recommend use of Teflon tape to ensure seal of the threading, as shown in Figure 1. It is suitable to liquids, gases and even for high vacuum. A hose barb fitting connects the hose to pipes and typically has a male-threaded or female end. The other end of the fitting is a barbed tube, which is inserted into a hose. You could add an adjustable hose clamp to keep the hose from slipping off the barbed tube. The hose barb fittings are made of brass, which is considered more durable for heavy-duty use. Threads used on these nipples are NPT. This product can expose you to chemicals including lead(~2.85%), which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
